Negre defends Vito from Patxi López and the journalists attack him

On Tuesday morning,  Javier Negre, president of Grupo EDA, attended the press conference at the Congress of Deputies. This followed the repeated attacks suffered by the journalist from this outlet, Vito Quiles. 

The insults and disdain our colleague has suffered have mostly come from the spokesperson of the Socialist Party, Patxi López. A couple of weeks ago, he stated that no one in the room considered Vito Quiles welcome. 

Negre, outraged by the repeated attacks from the socialists against the young journalist, decided to confront Patxi López in the press room of the Lower House.

After Negre's question, as seen in the images,  the first to stand up and leave the room were the journalists. The same ones who remain silent in the face of the socialist spokesperson's attacks on EDATV reporters. 

In seconds, Patxi López saw a quick exit when he noticed that the journalists friendly with the Government were getting up from their seats. Amid the mass departure to further snub a journalist from this outlet, López's press officers could be heard in the background. They threatened the president of EDATV with a lawsuit. 

Finally, everyone left, leaving the Grupo EDA workers alone, as they have done on other occasions. 

It is important to emphasize that the dismal scene witnessed today in Congress with our journalists,  is nothing new. The insults and disdain toward our colleagues are increasing. However, this is not an impediment for EDATV journalists to stop attending to ask the questions others are not capable of asking. 

What happened in the press room, a daily scene that the workers of this media outlet must endure. And all the disdain is for the simple fact of asking uncomfortable questions to politicians who have a salary paid with public money.
