Vox Denounces Organizers of Rally That Boycotted Their Information Table
The organization denounces the violation of essential rights such as freedom of expression and the right to assembly.
VOX has filed a complaint with the Investigative Court of San Sebastián against those responsible for the demonstration that blocked their information booth.
The party denounces the violation of essential rights such as freedom of expression and the right to assembly. The complaint also includes the organizers, instigators, and participants of the event for alleged hate crimes, threats, and coercion.
The complaint, led by Marta Castro, coordinator of VOX's legal area, argues that the attack on the booth was a display of "ideological discrimination." According to the party, this incident was a deliberate attempt to obstruct a legitimate political activity. VOX argues that the demonstration, which took place on February 22, disrupted the development of their event.

The Situation Required Ertzaintza's Intervention
The event was scheduled for 10:30 a.m. that Saturday and was widely publicized on VOX's official channels. However, days before, a boycott was organized through social media to prevent the development of the information booth. This campaign culminated in a blockade of the party members, creating a tense atmosphere.
The situation required Ertzaintza's intervention, which deployed a security cordon to prevent major incidents. According to the party, "it was practically impossible for any citizen to cross the area without facing physical risk." This hostile environment increased tensions during the event, which concerned VOX's leaders.
The participants of the demonstration threw objects, including stones, coins, and lighters, at VOX members. Additionally, direct threats such as "you're going to suffer," "you're going to die," and "you're going to fly" were heard, worsening the situation. There were also physical assaults on party affiliates, such as kicks and pushes.
In their complaint, VOX requests that Ertzaintza's Intelligence Office analyze the images and videos joining the complaint to identify those responsible for the assaults. They also request an investigation into the platforms and associations that promoted the demonstration to clarify their possible links with radical groups and football ultras.
VOX also demands that the court summon those responsible for the incidents to testify, as well as the witnesses present during the information booth. In their complaint, the party also requests a detailed report on the security deployment that day, as well as the publications and links on social media related to the boycott.

The party led by Santiago Abascal seeks to clarify the situation and take necessary measures to prevent such acts from recurring. Through this complaint, VOX aims to hold accountable those who organized, instigated, or participated in the assaults, preventing political violence from affecting freedom of expression and the exercise of essential rights.
The complaint emphasizes the seriousness of the events, highlighting the clear intention of the aggressors to silence a political party through violence. VOX believes that such behavior can't go unpunished, as it is a direct attack on democratic principles and the right to political participation.
Meanwhile, VOX has also requested that the climate of hostility caused by the event organizers and the possible legal implications that may arise be taken into account.
