This Is How Sánchez's Government Promotes the Pull Effect for Young People From Morocco

The event was held in collaboration with the Education Office of the Embassy of Spain in Morocco.

The Government of Pedro Sánchez continues to promote the arrival of Moroccans to Spain. It was between February 10, 11, and 13 when Morocco hosted an educational fair organized by the Spanish Service for the Internationalization of Education (SEPIE).

An entity linked to the Ministry of Universities led by Diana Morant. The main objective of this event was to foster the interest of Moroccan students in pursuing studies at Spanish universities.

This event was held in collaboration with the Education Office of the Spanish Embassy in Morocco and brought together 25 Spanish universities. The activities took place in Casablanca, Rabat, and Tangier, considered the most relevant cities in the country.

According to data from the Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities, Morocco is the African country with the highest number of international students in the Spanish university system. During the 2021-2022 academic year, 7,456 Moroccan students were registered in Spanish universities, of which 2,861 arrived as international students, according to the fair's promotional document.

SEPIE highlighted the main purposes of this fair:

To boost the internationalization of the Spanish university system and expand educational options for Moroccan students, promoting academic mobility between both countries.

To facilitate the training of Moroccan students in Spanish universities so they can play a key role in strengthening economic and social relations between Spain and Morocco.

To enhance cooperation in the scientific, cultural, and economic fields, promoting mutual knowledge between institutions.

To strengthen ties between universities of both countries and consolidate existing agreements.

For the Government of Spain, this fair represents an unparalleled opportunity to showcase the educational offerings of Spanish universities and higher institutions while reinforcing cultural ties and areas of common interest in the field of scientific research.

The University of Granada, one of the event participants, reported that many young people showed great enthusiasm for the available academic options, including degrees, master's, doctorates, and Spanish courses. They also made numerous inquiries about admission requirements, entrance exams (PEvAU), scholarships, accommodation, and other key aspects to organize their academic future in Spain.

A new nod to Morocco promoted by Sánchez's Government through the Ministry of Universities.

Sánchez's Government Wants to Take Spanish Engineers to Morocco

Pedro Sánchez's gesture amid the 'brain drain' of Spaniards to Morocco has sparked controversy.

While many of the best professionals are forced to leave Spain in search of better opportunities, the Spanish Government prefers to send them to Morocco instead of retaining them.

It has done so through the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, and Sports, which has made a call to "urgently cover" a replacement. All to teach in the specialty of Electrotechnical Installations at the Juan de la Cierva Institute in Tetouan, Morocco.

The call states:

"In this section, calls for teaching replacements that need to be urgently covered are published. In the event that the lists of applicants for the corresponding specialties are exhausted."

The official document was signed by the Education Office and the Spanish Embassy in Morocco. It ensures that the selected person must teach, for a minimum period of three weeks, the subjects of Electrical, Pneumatic, and Hydraulic Systems, Programmable Sequential Systems, Basic Electrical Installations, and Electrical Machines.

To apply for this call, candidates must be Spanish citizens or belong to one of the member states of the European Union. Additionally, the spouses of Spanish citizens or people from any EU country may participate, regardless of their nationality, as long as there is no legal separation.

Similarly, their descendants, whether under 21 years old or older who are economically dependent on their parents, will be allowed to participate under the same conditions.

In addition to this, the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, and Sports, led by the socialist Pilar Alegría, has proposed bringing more students. Together with the International University of Valencia, they have signed, on January 15, 2025, an agreement to carry out academic internships for students. Both Undergraduate and Postgraduate in the field of the Education Office in Morocco.
