This has been the avalanche of boos against García Ortiz upon his arrival at the Supreme Court.
The Attorney General of the State was received with shouts before his statement as a defendant for breach of confidentiality
The Attorney General of the State, Álvaro García Ortiz, is testifying this Wednesday as a suspect before the Supreme Court. All due to an alleged crime of revealing secrets in the case related to Alberto González Amador, the boyfriend of the President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso.
Álvaro García Ortiz's testimony began at 10:00 a.m. and will take place after the judge postponed this appointment following a request from the State Attorney's Office.
However, García Ortiz's arrival was met with a wave of boos from those gathered at the doors of the Supreme Court.
Citizens present at the Supreme Court directed shouts and whistles against the Attorney General of the State. Images that quickly went viral on social media.
All despite the attempt by the public broadcaster RTVE, which tried to silence those boos live, barely allowing the ambient sound to be heard.
The judge highlighted the seriousness of the crime
After the Supreme Court's decision on the request to postpone García Ortiz's testimony was made known, a second blow struck the prosecutor. The judge of the case emphasized the seriousness of the crime.
Ángel Luis Hurtado, a Supreme Court magistrate, stated in a ruling dated this Monday, January 27, that he considers the case very serious. The judge made it clear that he sees the leak of emails regarding the case of Alberto González Amador, Isabel Díaz Ayuso's partner, as serious.
The magistrate in charge of the case highlighted in a written statement the "breach of confidentiality" that the publication of emails represents. The same emails in which the defense of businessman Alberto González Amador proposed acknowledging two crimes.
In his resolution, he explicitly dismisses "minimizing the significance" of said leak, which has caused controversy in the judicial process. All of this, according to El Confidencial.
The judge's stance responds to the State Attorney's request to postpone the interrogation to conduct other tests before continuing with the procedure. Additionally, the magistrate directly addresses one of the main arguments of Álvaro García Ortiz's defense.
In the same statement, they argue that the leak of the emails came from the environment of the President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso. Specifically, from Miguel Ángel Rodríguez, her chief of staff.
The defense argues that the dissemination of these secret emails had already begun previously, which, according to their argument, would invalidate the accusation of revealing secrets. This, given that part of the content was already public knowledge before the reported events.
The case remains at a point of high legal interest, with the leak and its implications as one of the most relevant aspects in the judicial assessment.
