This is the former regional deputy close to Yolanda Díaz who has been arrested
The agents raided last Tuesday at IES Breamo in Pontedeume, where he teaches
Xosé Xabier Ron Fernández was arrested last Tuesday by the Civil Guard. The former deputy of Alternativa Galega de Esquerda (AGE) and former candidate of Izquierda Unida for the mayoralty of Santiago de Compostela was arrested where he teaches, at IES Breamo.
Several agents from the judicial brigade entered the educational center during the morning to proceed with inspections, according to Faro de Vigo. This arrest occurred as part of an operation that included searches in various places, including IES Breamo in Pontedeume, where he has been teaching since September 2024.

However, so far the official reasons for the operation haven't been disclosed.
It should be remembered that Xabier Ron was a candidate of Izquierda Unida for the mayoralty of Santiago in 2007 and 2011. He also led the IU list for La Coruña in the 2008 general elections. His greatest projection came in 2012, when he won a seat in the Galician Parliament within the AGE coalition, representing IU.
Additionally, it is worth noting that he maintained a close political relationship with Yolanda Díaz. According to the Galician newspaper, he was a politician close to Yolanda Díaz, as he also had roots in the Ferrol estuary.

Besides his teaching role, the former deputy close to Yolanda Díaz is a historic member of the Communist Party of Galicia. He is also a member of its central committee. He is also part of the executive of Izquierda Unida-Esquerda Unida, where he holds the positions of Secretary of Social Movements and regional coordinator in Compostela.
In addition to this, he is one of the founders of the Foro Galego de Inmigración.
But the cloud of uncertainty surrounding this Civil Guard operation is surprising. From which, no further details have emerged, not even the reason for the arrest.
A fact that has created doubts in the locality and among the neighbors of the area.
