This is how Chivite flees when EDATV asks her about the ETA member who has started teaching classes.

The school where José Javier Osés Carrasco teaches is the Instituto Valle de Ebro in Tudela.

Chivite has been at the center of a new controversy. The socialist president of Navarra, María Chivite, was criticized for hiring an individual with a background related to ETA to teach classes in Navarra.

According to El Mundo, the school where José Javier Osés Carrasco teaches is the Valle de Ebro Institute in Tudela, meaning he would be teaching minors.

Osés, also known as "Jotas," has a background related to ETA. Osés was sentenced to eight years in prison for his involvement with the terrorist organization.

This news has been very poorly received by several people in the locality, where it is labeled as a "total absurdity."

This Friday, January 24, Chivite attended the International Tourism Fair (Fitur), where she joined Pedro Sánchez. Upon her arrival, EDATV asked her about the matter. When questioned, the socialist avoided responding and fled from the reporter of this outlet.

Osés Carrasco spent two years in preventive detention until, in 2009, he managed to obtain bail after serving the maximum allowed time. "Jotas" managed to evade trial for the crimes attributed to him by the Civil Guard by fleeing to France.

It was there where he was linked to ETA, working in its logistics apparatus for three years. In 2012, he was arrested in Albi, a small French town, along with Unai Errazkin, a member of ETA.

The latter, according to authorities, was involved in the murders of Iñaki Uría, a businessman from Gipuzkoa, and Isaías Carrasco, a socialist councilor. At the time of their capture, both were carrying firearms.

After his arrest, "Jotas" was sentenced by the Paris Correctional Court to eight years in prison. However, the sentence didn't include any special disqualification, something not contemplated in either French or Spanish legislation regarding convictions in that country.

Spanish law, modified in 2015, establishes a disqualification of up to 20 years for those convicted of terrorism in Spain who wish to access teaching positions. However, this doesn't apply to cases of convictions in France.

"Jotas" was released from Soria prison in October 2018. This was after serving five years in French prisons and one more year in Spanish prisons. During that period, the National Court attempted to extend his sentence.

He was accused of glorifying terrorism meanwhileicipation in the 2009 Korrika. This is a race in favor of the Basque language that has sometimes been used as a showcase for ETA prisoners.
