This is the former Puigdemont advisor who has been accused of 'sexual harassment'

A former advisor of Junts accuses a former minister of Puigdemont of alleged sexual and psychological harassment

Junts is back in the eye of the storm, and this time, not because of agreements with Pedro Sánchez. This Friday, it was revealed that a former advisor to Toni Comín has filed a complaint against the former MEP before the European Parliament's Advisory Committee. This, accusing him of sexual and psychological harassment.

The complainant, who worked for seven years in Brussels as an assistant for Junts, claims to have been a victim of groping, insinuations, and inappropriate proposals, including the suggestion to have relations with third parties. Additionally, he claims that Comín went as far as to question him about his intimate life with his wife.

The complaint not only points to sexual behavior but also describes a work environment marked by humiliating treatment, with episodes of anger and threats of unjustified dismissal. According to the report submitted, these events allegedly extended over several years. This, until the alleged victim decided to leave his position after the European elections on July 9.

The case would be known within Junts, and the complainant has provided the names of at least six people willing to testify in his favor before the Eurochamber. Among them, it is mentioned that Carles Puigdemont, the party leader, was aware of the situation and had expressed his support for the former advisor.

Puigdemont's former counselor denies the accusations

The former counselor of the Generalitat and elected MEP of Junts, Toni Comín, denied this Friday the accusations of harassment and workplace, psychological, and sexual mistreatment filed against him. Comín stated "with all firmness" that he hasn't committed any act of harassment or mistreatment toward the former Junts advisor who has filed a complaint against him before the European Parliament.

The former MEP Toni Comín has assured that some of the facts mentioned in the complaint, revealed by La Vanguardia, have been "completely distorted." According to Comín, these are jokes and comments, more or less appropriate, made in the context of a relationship of trust and friendship forged during his tenure.
