The socialist who evaluated Sánchez's brother denies having been in the interview
Cristina Núñez, then Gallardo's right-hand person, assessed the suitability of the final candidate according to her own criteria
The case of Sánchez's brother continues to make headlines. The position held by David Sánchez is more in question than ever, and Judge Biedma is focusing on it.
Let's remember that the position held by Sánchez's brother is thanks to a subjective interview.
Additionally, Cristina Núñez assessed the suitability of the final candidate according to her own criteria. That interview was key, "especially the answers to the questions" asked in an interview.
However, the socialist admitted to the judge that she hadn't conducted them, despite having signed otherwise. It was an interview that the musician couldn't recall in detail during the trial.

Just twenty minutes of interview led to Sánchez's brother securing the position in the Diputación. A position with a salary that in 2023 already amounted to 53,890.63 euros (approximately 59,000 dollars) annually.
Cristina Núñez, socialist deputy delegate of the Area of Culture, Youth, and Social Welfare, was the one who signed the document by which Sánchez's brother was chosen over other candidates.
This interview was recorded, as stated in the file, on June 27, 2017. According to the minutes, those present included the aforementioned Cristina Núñez, along with Elisa Moriano, director of the Area of Culture, Manuel Candalija, head of the Cultural Activities Service, and Félix González, head of the Human Resources Management Service.
The truth is that, despite her name appearing in the minutes, Núñez denied during the trial having been present during the interviews.
"When the interviews are conducted, no, I'm there before the interviews start. I stop by to greet those inside the commission so they can explain a bit about how the follow-up is going to be, how they have it planned."

The socialist deputy, besides denying her presence, explained that the creation of the position was a proposal from the Culture area.
This initiative was created "after conducting a study and an assessment of the needs that the different bodies had. Those that make up the culture area." All this when Elisa Moriano was then the director.
The new twist in the case of Sánchez's brother that puts him against the ropes
The Provincial Court of Badajoz has confirmed the summons as an investigated party for David Sánchez, brother of the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez.
The decision dismisses the appeal filed by the Prosecutor's Office, which sought to halt the investigation for alleged irregularities in his hiring at the Diputación of Badajoz.
The investigation, led by Judge Beatriz Biedma, has caused considerable public attention by pointing to possible crimes of influence peddling, prevarication, and embezzlement of public funds in the Diputación of Badajoz.
The central figure of the case is David Sánchez, hired under circumstances that, according to the accusation, could have involved undue favoritism.
The Prosecutor's Office had argued that the initial order didn't sufficiently delineate the imputed facts, which, in their opinion, compromised the right of defense of those involved.
However, the Court has rejected this stance, stating that the order has sufficient motivation to continue with the process. "The investigated parties have their procedural rights guaranteed and will be able to clarify their position during the proceedings," the court noted in its resolution.
One of the key elements of the investigation has been the intervention of corporate emails. A measure that has sparked debates about privacy and the balance between the search for evidence and respect for individual rights.
For the judges, this intervention has been crucial to justify the summons of Sánchez and the president of the Diputación of Badajoz, Miguel Ángel Gallardo.
