Santa Eulària Empresarial requests that the problematic unjoined minors be relocated for safety

Santa Eulària Empresarial Association has requested the relocation of the apartment where unjoined foreign minors live

The Santa Eulària Business Association has requested the relocation of the residence where foreign minors under the guardianship of the Consell d’Eivissa are housed. They ask for it to be moved "to a different area that is not located in the center of the municipality. Due to the coexistence and security problems that its current location is causing".

This association, which defines itself as representing a significant part of the municipality's business sector, issued a statement. It expressed its "growing concern" regarding the "impact that the uncontrolled arrival of irregular immigration is generating in our society".

They state that, after holding meetings with businesspeople and representatives from different sectors, "concerns have been raised".

These are related to the "increase in vandalism, thefts, and assaults.

Which are disrupting the tranquility and security that characterize Santa Eulària". These incidents, they emphasize, "are creating a climate of insecurity. That affects both residents and the economic activity of the municipality".

Santa Eulària Business expresses its concern. All in light of "the constant arrival of boats with migrants" and the difficulties faced by both institutions and state security forces. Necessary "to ensure an effective integration of these people".

As well as the "impact" that this could have on "social cohesion and the perception of security" within the municipality.

The business association, led by Vicente Guasch de la Encina, considers it "essential" to collaborate with the authorities. In order to find solutions that allow "preserving security and social harmony" in Santa Eulària. For this reason, they request a "greater presence and coordination" among state security forces.

All "to ensure tranquility in the streets and in areas considered problematic". They also call for "a detailed analysis of the situation of unjoined minors".

In addition to the implementation of measures that "promote their proper integration and supervision, avoiding circumstances that could lead to criminal behavior".

Another demand of Santa Eulària Business is the conduct of an audit of the company responsible for managing this reception center. It aims to "clarify the reasons why these minors don't comply with their return schedules. Their educational obligations and their proper guardianship, often remaining in public areas instead of being under the appropriate care".

They also request the creation of "a continuous dialogue" between the different administrations and entities involved. In order to "develop strategies that allow sustainably addressing the challenges arising from irregular immigration".

From Santa Eulària Business, they assure they are "committed to the well-being of the municipality". But also "to promoting harmonious coexistence among all members of the community".
