Mazón allocates 86 million euros in direct aid for vehicles due to the DANA

Mazón detailed that since December 16, the Generalitat has received nearly 69,000 applications, of which 45,294 have already been approved.

The president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, has emphasized that in just two weeks, more than 86 million euros have been allocated in direct aid to those who have lost their vehicles due to the floods.

Mazón detailed that, since December 16, the Generalitat has received nearly 69,000 applications, of which 45,294 have already been approved, streamlining the process with a simplified procedure to ensure that all beneficiaries receive the funds in the first quarter of the year.

The leader of the Consell emphasized the priority of managing these aids effectively, minimizing bureaucracy and ensuring that those affected can regain their mobility as soon as possible. In this regard, he criticized the inaction of the central government, which hasn't yet contributed any amount to the Reinicia Auto Plan, and demanded "zero taxes for those affected."

Unlike the state plan, the Generalitat's aid doesn't require the purchase of a new vehicle and is tax-exempt. Mazón insisted on the Consell's fiscal strategy in favor of those affected, recalling the 100% exemption of the Transfer Tax for the acquisition of second-hand vehicles.

It is worth noting that the Generalitat has enabled a line of 250 million euros to compensate those affected by the destruction of vehicles due to the floods. The amounts vary according to the type of vehicle: 250 euros for mopeds, 750 euros for motorcycles, 2,000 euros for cars, vans, and similar vehicles, and 2,500 euros for those adapted for people with reduced mobility.

Progress in reconstruction

Mazón reported that the Generalitat has mobilized more than 1.6 billion euros to alleviate the damage from the floods and support economic and social reconstruction, allocating more than 891 million to direct aid for affected individuals, companies, and municipalities.

So far, all aid to self-employed individuals without employees has been paid, with a disbursement of 39.9 million euros, while companies and self-employed individuals with employees have received 69% of the aid, equivalent to 69 million euros. Additionally, 61% of the aid for essential goods has already been paid, totaling more than 122 million euros.

In the coming days, the Generalitat will activate new support lines, such as the Bono Recuperem Turisme, which has an investment of 5.1 million euros and will benefit 17,000 residents in affected municipalities, with individual vouchers of 300 euros.

Furthermore, specific aid will be launched in the field of social services to adapt vehicles for people with disabilities, and a budget of 900,000 euros has been approved for foster families affected by the floods.
