RTVE's plan to inject Catalanism among young children
It should be noted that the children's channel will continue to be broadcast in Spanish
The president of RTVE has made a decision. José Pablo López has announced that the children's channel Clan will also broadcast its programming in Catalan before the end of 2025.
It should be noted that the children's channel will continue to be broadcast in Spanish, only that it will coexist with Catalan, according to Vozpopuli. To carry it out, dual technology will be used.
It allows the user to decide, through the remote control, in which language they prefer to watch the chosen program. However, RTVE hasn't clarified which will be the default language, whether Spanish or Catalan.
This is a controversy that is announced amid the debate over the future transformation of La 2 in Catalonia, which will become a monolingual channel in Catalan. Until now, it broadcast part of its programming in Spanish, although with territorial disconnections in Catalan.

This happens after the agreement between Pedro Sánchez and Puigdemont, at the same time that Miríam Nogueras spoke about the panorama of Spain that shows "a lot of Spanish but little Catalan." It adds, as the media points out, the statements of the Presidency Minister Albert Dalmau in which he explained the need to "protect" Catalan within the audiovisual field.
"We have to work so that Catalonia feels attended to within RTVE's offer with programming in the Catalan language."
Blames Peppa Pig
This is something ridiculous on the part of the General Secretary of Land Transport. Her name is Marta Serrano, who has blamed several children's cartoons for carrying out gender stereotypes. Stereotypes that, in her view, prevent the presence of women in sectors such as road maintenance.
Attacks that she has carried out on cartoons as innocent as Peppa Pig or Paw Patrol. This is confirmed by El Mundo, which assures that Serrano highlighted her perspective during a conference organized by Executive Forum. Titled The Role of Women in Road Network Maintenance.

In her intervention, she emphasized the importance of implementing policies that promote equal opportunities and contribute to eradicating gender stereotypes.
She claims that, in those children's cartoons, "all the workers are giant and very muscular men." A ridiculous situation that, according to her, "is a social and cultural challenge."
She explained during her intervention that "we are still very far from achieving parity." She also pointed out that women constitute approximately 11% in the conservation area and less than 10% in the road transport sector.
