Radical Turn in Nacho Cano Case: Judge Requests Repetition of Exculpatory Report
In her first report, the sub-inspector determined that there was no 'covert employment relationship'
Nacho Cano continues to make headlines. Let's remember that Cano still has to face the consequences of his arrest in the case of the interns from the musical Malinche.
According to Vozpópuli, the judge investigating the case has ordered the Labor Inspectorate to conduct a new analysis of the working conditions of the young Mexicans. In her first report, the sub-inspector determined that there was no "concealed employment relationship" between the production company and the interns.
In a document dated this Wednesday and according to the media, the judge in charge of the Investigative Court number 19 of Madrid states that the official didn't conduct a thorough investigation. This is because, according to her, some of her conclusions lack evidentiary support.

In this same order, the magistrate leading the investigation has summoned several people to appear as suspects. More specifically, the executive producer of the musical Malinche, David Hatchwell, and the director of Jana, Javier Alfonso Muñoz.
As the holder points out, according to the media, the latter "has not provided the required documentation to verify the training project and the financial documentation." Nor "has he identified any Jana teacher who provided training to the supposed interns."
The judge also questions the sub-inspector, who supported her report before the court. She questioned that she only requested the enrollments at Jana of the 16 people who claimed to be interns.
She also questioned that she accepted the document signed and sealed by Javier Alfonso Muñoz as sufficient evidence. Meanwhile, Cano's lawyers expressed their surprise at the magistrate's decision to summon the author of the report to testify.
Two police officers charged
Two police officers who participated in the arrest of the music producer. Let's remember that Cano was arrested last July for alleged irregularities in the hiring of interns for the musical Malinche.

The two mentioned police officers have been charged by the judge of Instruction number 38 of Madrid for an alleged crime of coercion. Therefore, they must appear before the magistrate on February 27.
The summons is related to the complaint filed by the students against the officers of the Leganitos street police station in Madrid. They accuse them of conducting surveillance during the process of summoning them as witnesses.
On July 8, the students filed the complaint against the police officers, alleging alleged crimes of "coercion, threats, document falsification, and illegal detention." These events allegedly occurred on June 27, while the police were taking their statements. According to the students' lawyers, the officers had conducted an investigation on them for six months, without informing the judge or having judicial supervision.
