The mayor of Móstoles criticizes Puente for his projects that harm the residents of Móstoles.
Through his social media, Manuel Bautista has directly addressed the socialist minister
Óscar Puente has been at the center of a new controversy. It concerns the construction work on the A-5 and the mobility plan promoted by the Ministry of Transport. This construction is complicating the comspeechless for drivers from Móstoles, Arroyomolinos, and Alcorcón as they attempt to reach the city center.
The discontent originates from the bus lane that begins shortly after kilometer 18 (11.18 miles), heading toward the entrance of Madrid. It extends to near kilometer 14 (8.7 miles) in the first section. Subsequently, in a second phase, this lane starts at kilometer 11 (6.84 miles) in a commercial area of Alcorcón and reaches kilometer 9.6 (5.97 miles) near Cuatro Vientos.
This way, the newly enabled lane causes severe traffic jams just 10 kilometers (6.21 miles) from the underground construction work. Additionally, it is often almost empty most of the time.
For these reasons, the mayor of Móstoles, Manuel Bautista, has decided to speak out on the matter. "The PSOE has launched its particular crusade in defense of the VAO bus lane to Príncipe Pío, ignoring the criteria of the technicians who have conducted studies showing that, in this case, traffic and congestion would be much greater."
Through his social media, Bautista has directly addressed Minister Puente. "I ask Mr. Puente to reconsider, abandon experimental measures, and withdraw this initiative that, instead of benefiting the people of Móstoles, harms them."
Alongside him, several users who have suffered these consequences have also spoken out. "The new bus lane on the A-5 in the service road between Móstoles and Alcorcón creates traffic jams where there were none during off-peak hours and worsens rush hour. The most concerning thing is that almost no bus uses it."
Puente's Renfe
A few days ago, Javier Faúndez, president of the Zamora Provincial Council, began his journey to Madrid to represent the province at FITUR 2025. However, his trip was marked by a series of problems that highlight the poor state of the rail service.
The train Faúndez was traveling on was delayed by an hour, affecting his schedule for the important tourism promotion event. Upon reaching his carriage, he discovered that the assigned seat didn't exist, forcing him to stand in the cafeteria, which had no service available.
After receiving a new seat, it was already occupied, creating an uncomfortable situation. Faúndez didn't hesitate to express his dissatisfaction, launching a harsh criticism of the service: "Is this the image the Government of Spain wants to present at an international tourism fair?"
