The company of María Jesús Montero's number three that raises alarms

María Jesús Montero is once again in the spotlight. This time with her number three under the scrutiny of the Tax Inspectors.

The name of José Antonio Marco Sanjuán, Montero's number three, has been crucial for the State Tax Inspectors Association. They question whether the President of the Central Economic Administrative Court, José Antonio Marco Sanjuán, should remain in office.

All this while, according to them and El Debate, he uses a corporate structure to pay fewer taxes. They claim that his case is causing indignation throughout the organization.

The company raising suspicions is Investment Betancunia SL. According to El Debate, it has been used since 2003 to avoid paying taxes. This entity has his partner Enrique Lahuerta Tornos as administrator.

According to the media, he has been buying real estate and billing for classes and lectures.

The serious issue here is that Sanjuán concealed in his high-ranking official asset declaration his shares in a network of real estate salons. These had defaults and were hastily sold for one euro to another of his partners, Alberto Gómez Sánchez.

These transfers were carried out when his tax irregularities began to come to light.

He also hasn't reported his involvement in the acquisition of land in Tarragona with one of his partners, Gonzalo Perdrix Ecequiel. Whose companies have received significant public subsidies. Due to these last two matters, a complaint has recently been filed against him for an alleged document forgery offense.

The first tax anomaly, according to his own colleagues at the Tax Office after conducting a thorough examination of his tax situation, has shown a revelation. It is precisely related to the payment of the Personal Income Tax (IRPF). All the income that Marco Sanjuán has recorded through Investment Betancunia SL.

Montero's number two implicated by Aldama

Those contacts between Aldama and the minister Montero's number two have been found in the analysis of the new terminal.

That first message was sent by Aldama to Carlos Moreno on June 30, 2020. Aldama started the message: "Hello Carlos, good afternoon. This is the company's CIF."

That text was followed by an image with the business data of the entrepreneur's company, Pilo Real Estate. In fact, in the message itself, Aldama claims that he is the owner. And then he proceeds to ask the following:

"The debt is currently around 550,000 euros. We'd put 250,000 and the rest, a 5-year agreement, if possible. Hugs and thanks," he noted.

This would be another piece of evidence corroborating what Aldama stated in the National Court, and it is that request to Moreno. He also confirmed that Montero's number two ended up granting it. And he added that he later gave him an envelope with 25,000 euros.

Money that the entrepreneur would have given, according to him, in gratitude, and he handed it over in a bar in the company of Koldo. However, Montero's number two has always denied receiving that money.

Koldo, meanwhile, has admitted that the three of them did meet in a bar, as Aldama specified. But that no cash handover took place.

In an exchange of messages, a possible meeting regarding his tax situation is suggested. "Hello Carlos, good evening, how are you for a coffee tomorrow?"

To which Moreno responds: "Hello Víctor, it's complicated, to be honest. We're swamped. I'm still working."

It should be noted that so far only partial recovery of messages corresponding to previous and subsequent months has been possible. The link between Moreno and Aldama was thanks to Koldo García, who months earlier had already had a relationship with Montero's right-hand man. All due to matters requested by the entrepreneur.
