Aldama is the key piece that can bring down Ábalos before the Supreme Court
The court order sets a ten-day deadline for Aldama to present a list of the apartments that he allegedly provided for meetings in which Torres and Ábalos participated.
The Supreme Court has issued an order in which it agrees to require, through its legal representation, businessman Víctor de Aldama to provide detailed information. On several key aspects related to the investigation for alleged corruption involving the former Minister of Transport, José Luis Ábalos.
This requirement is part of the preliminary proceedings that seek to clarify the extent of the relationships between Ábalos, his former advisor Koldo García.
The order sets a ten-day deadline for Aldama to present a list of the apartments. That, according to his statements, he would have facilitated for meetings in which Ángel Víctor Torres, current Minister of Territorial Policy, Koldo García, and José Luis Ábalos himself participated in Madrid.
The Supreme Court demands specific details about the dates of the rental contracts, duration of the stays, and the payments made for these properties.

Additionally, the court requests Aldama to report if payments were made to the "ladies" mentioned in his statement and, if so, to identify who was responsible for these disbursements. This aspect could shed light on possible schemes of fund diversion or irregular practices in the former minister's environment.
Another point of the order is the request for identification of the people who participated in the hiring of Jéssica, a friend of Ábalos. In addition to two public companies: first at Ineco and later at Tragsatec. The Supreme Court seeks to determine if there were undue influences or political favors in these selection processes.

This new phase of the judicial investigation reflects the Supreme Court's determination to clarify the possible links between public and private sectors. Especially in the management of resources and hiring, as well as the existence of a network of favors.
Meanwhile, José Luis Ábalos has repeatedly denied any involvement in acts of corruption. Distancing himself from Aldama's accusations and pointing to third parties as responsible for possible irregularities.
However, the accumulation of evidence and testimonies has led the Supreme Court to intensify the proceedings, including summoning numerous witnesses and requesting new economic and asset reports.
The development of this case will continue in the coming weeks with the taking of statements from key witnesses and the review of the submitted documentation. The public opinion and the political environment are closely watching each advance of the investigation, which could have significant repercussions on the Spanish institutional landscape.
