The mayor, Vicente Roig, along with the Tourism Promotion coordinator, Eva Ruiz, have presented these initiatives to an audience of journalists and tourism sector agents, emphasizing the importance of sustainability and the preservation of cultural heritage.
The "Sant Josep és Foto" festival, scheduled for April, aims to highlight the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the municipality through a series of activities including photographic exhibitions, workshops, and lectures by renowned photographers. Participants will have the opportunity to explore Sant Josep's most iconic landscapes, capturing their essence and sharing it with the world. This event not only promotes photography as an art but also values the municipality's natural and cultural resources, fostering more conscious and environmentally respectful tourism.

Meanwhile, the "Fira de la Sal," which will celebrate its ninth edition in October, is an event that has gained popularity over the years. This festival focuses on Sant Josep's salt-making tradition, offering a window to the past with demonstrations of ancestral salt production processes. Visitors can enjoy workshops, tastings, and guided tours of the salt flats, learning about the historical and economic importance of salt in the region. Additionally, the fair includes a series of parallel activities, such as local product markets, live music, and cultural performances, enriching the attendees' experience and strengthening community identity.

Both events reflect Sant Josep's commitment to promoting its culture, heritage, and natural environment. During the presentation at FITUR, Vicente Roig highlighted the relevance of these events to attract a type of visitor who values sustainability and respect for the environment. "We want Sant Josep to be recognized not only for its beaches and landscapes but also for its cultural richness and commitment to sustainable tourism," Roig stated.
Eva Ruiz, meanwhile, emphasized the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors for the promotion of these events. "The participation of the community and local businesses is essential to the success of 'Sant Josep és Foto' and the 'Fira de la Sal.' Together we can create unique and meaningful experiences for visitors," she concluded.

With these initiatives, Sant Josep positions itself as an attractive destination for those seeking authentic and sustainable experiences, standing out at FITUR 2025 as a benchmark in the promotion of cultural and ecological tourism.
