Sam's Club makes an urgent decision and Costco already fears the worst: starting today
Sam's Club's measure opens a new rivalry with Costco and marks a turning point in its strategy
The competition among warehouse club giants is intensifying in the United States, and this time Sam's Club has made a move. Starting today, its customers will be able to enjoy two key changes that threaten to challenge its major rival: Costco. The actions aim to attract more members and solidify its position in the retail market.
Costco has always boasted about its food court, especially for its famous pizza and hot dog combo. But now Sam's Club is responding strongly. The modifications not only improve the customer experience but also elevate the battle for palate dominance and convenience.

Pizza to go... without leaving the car
One of the major announcements is that Sam's Club will offer whole pizzas to go, something many are celebrating. Although they haven't confirmed the exact price, it's expected to be around $9.94, almost matching Costco's whole pizza, which costs $9.95. This could level one of the strong points of its direct competitor.
But the big difference is in how the pizza is picked up. While at Costco you have to wait in the food court, at Sam's Club it will be enough to place an order and pick it up by car, thanks to the new curbside pickup system.
Thus, the waiting time is eliminated and convenience is gained, "While Costco makes you wait for your pizza, Sam's Club will bring it to your car," they highlight from All recipes. This move could be key to attracting those who value speed and efficiency. In a market where time is money, offering this option makes a substantial difference that can tip the balance.

More hours, more food, but less rest
The second change responds to a common complaint from shoppers on social media, many were asking for the food court to have the same hours as the rest of the establishment. A post on X expressed it clearly: "I wish Sam's Club's food court was open all day like the store." Finally, the company has agreed to extend the hours of this to match those of the main store.
This means that, from now on, Sam's Club customers will have an extra hour to get their pretzel, pizza, or hot dog. Although the change has been well received by customers, some employees are not as satisfied, according to The Sun.

An employee wrote angrily on Reddit: "Today we were told we will close at 8, but we leave at 9; that leaves only one hour to clean and close." Criticisms quickly appeared among the workers. Another user commented: "The café has a lot of cleaning, dishes, and restocking, there's no way to get all that done in an hour."
In short, Sam's Club is positioning itself to compete more aggressively. While customers celebrate the improvement in service and convenience, Costco is watching closely. The stage is set, and the warehouse club war in the United States has a new chapter starting today.
