New Setback for Millions of Americans: They Have Erupted
Verizon had guaranteed a price lock for three years, but that advantage isn't available to everyone
Verizon is once again at the center of controversy. What seemed to be an attractive promotion has turned into a source of frustration for millions of customers in the United States. The company proudly announced a new offer that guarantees keeping the price of its rates for three years.
However, upon reviewing the details, many users feel deceived. This promotion is presented as a fixed price guarantee for 36 months, both for new and existing customers. But there is an important condition that not everyone had noticed.
It is only valid for those who have subscribed to the new myPlan or myHome plans. This means that users with old rates are automatically excluded. Unless they decide to switch to these more recent plans, which in some cases means losing previous benefits or paying more.

Additionally, this price guarantee has fine print. Verizon clarifies that the fixed price doesn't include taxes or additional charges, and that has raised suspicions among consumers. Many fear that the company, although keeping the base cost of the rate, could raise prices through those concepts.
Thus, what seemed like a solid offer could actually end up being a covert way to increase monthly costs.
Verizon Also Offers a Phone, but with Conditions
That's not all. Verizon has also launched a promotion that promises a free phone with any plan if you trade in an old one. At first glance, it sounds excellent.
It doesn't matter if the device you trade in is damaged or has years of use. However, there's a catch: the device you'll receive will only be free if you choose a model from Apple, Google, or Samsung. Many other popular brands are excluded, which significantly limits the real offer.

On the other hand, the company has announced new additional perks to attract more users. Among them are free satellite messaging service or a $15 monthly savings by combining mobile lines with home services, Verizon Perks.
These changes went into effect a few days ago. Verizon claims to be the only carrier offering this price guarantee to all its customers without requiring them to do anything extra. In fact, the company assures that every time a customer modifies their myPlan, the three-year term will restart.
Overcoming User Discontent
Despite the enthusiasm with which Verizon has communicated these updates, the reaction from consumers hasn't been entirely positive. Many feel that the promotion is designed to seem better than it really is. The exclusion of certain customers, hidden conditions, and limitations on available devices generate distrust.
It has launched a very ambitious marketing campaign, but the fine print has sparked the anger of a large part of its user base. Although the offers may be beneficial for some, it's advisable to read the terms carefully before assuming it's a real saving.
