This Was the Position Created for a Former Psoe Councilor to Help Sánchez's Brother
The judge suspects that the Legislature may have exempted David Sánchez from certain responsibilities.
Pedro Sánchez's brother is once again in the spotlight of controversy. This time, it involves a former socialist councilor. It was in 2023 when the Legislature de Badajoz created a new position within the Culture area.
All this with the aim of managing and administratively coordinating the music conservatories. It is surprising since it was a task that until then fell to Sánchez's brother. The person selected to perform this function was Martín Serván Corchero, an experienced former PSOE councilor in Badajoz.
In statements to El Confidencial, he defended the need for this position. He argued that the conservatories have historically faced administrative problems since the teachers did not have knowledge in areas such as budgets, regulations or fees.

The judge investigating David Sánchez has focused on the creation of this position. The truth is that she suspects that the Legislature may have exempted him from certain responsibilities. All so that he could focus on an opera project, his main interest.
This position was called Head of Service for Coordination and Administrative Management of Music Conservatories.
Additionally, it was occupied by Serván Corchero, who had previously been on the PSOE list in the 2019 municipal elections. Even securing a seat in the Badajoz City Council.
The magistrate, head of the Investigative Court number 3 of Badajoz, is not only investigating the creation of David Sánchez's position in 2016 and its award in 2017. She is also investigating the possibility that the Legislature reduced his duties to allow him to focus on his personal interests.

Additionally, she examines the hiring of additional staff to assist him, including a Moncloa advisor with whom he maintained communication. As reflected in emails where he referred to him as "little brother."
Meanwhile, Martín Serván Corchero has assured that he has no relationship with David Sánchez. He explained that his work is strictly administrative and that operational decisions fall on the teaching management of the conservatories.
According to his testimony, his role consists of managing contracts and organizing transfers, but without intervening in pedagogical decisions. He clarified that the position was created in September 2023, while he assumed the role in May 2024. And that his work is carried out at the request of the heads of each conservatory, without direct relation to David Sánchez.
Legislature de Badajoz and the Case of Sánchez's Brother Under the 'Clans' of PSOE
The case of Sánchez's brother and the Legislature, also implicated, once again unleashes controversy. There are up to five families linked to PSOE of Extremadura, with a long history in the Legislature de Badajoz and composed of career and interim public employees. They are at the center of the controversy by appearing in various ways in the judicial process involving David Sánchez.
They are popularly associated with the so-called "clans of PSOE beneficiaries and Socialist Youths." A network of contacts that, over time, has been adding more affiliates to Social Security.
Some members of these families have been mentioned in emails seized by the Civil Guard. All for having supported or collaborated in some way with Pedro Sánchez's brother.
This is reflected in the judicial reports of David Sánchez's case, where eight people are investigated: Miguel Ángel Gallardo, current president of the Legislature de Badajoz. Elisa Moriano, former director of the Culture Area; Cristina Núñez, former deputy of Culture.
Juana Cintas Calderón Zazo, former director of the Human Resources and Internal Regime Area and now director of the Municipal Cooperation Area. Manuel Candalija Valle, former head of the Cultural Activities Service and now Director of the Culture, Sports and Youth Area.
Félix González Márquez, former head of the Human Resources Management Service. And María Emilia Parejo Gala, formerly director of the Culture Area and currently coordinator in the Equality Area.
This group of recommended people, identified in official documents, is part of the known family clans:
Mendoza Sánchez-Rojas, Suárez-Arias, Albano, Cardenal Guijarro and Peña Paredes, among others. It is a network that encompasses politicians, unionists and officials, whose names not only appear in the files reviewed by magistrate Beatriz Biedma.
