The Petition by Complutense Students That Corners Monedero
They seek 'to remove said professor from teaching until the situation is clarified'
Monedero continues to be a topic of discussion. The founder of Podemos, Juan Carlos Monedero, is now the subject of a request. It is the Student Delegation of the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology at the Complutense University that demands the implementation of preventive and precautionary measures.
Okdiario has confirmed this, explaining that the students seek "to remove this professor from teaching until the situation is clarified".
In a statement, the students have expressed their concern about the uncomfortable environment caused by his role as a professor. In particular, they have mentioned his alleged involvement in a case of sexual assault against a student.
In light of this situation, they consider it necessary to apply preventive and precautionary measures. This way, they ensure that students can attend class without fear while the facts are clarified and the corresponding process progresses. The aforementioned media confirms this.

"From the Delegation, we consider it appropriate to establish precautionary and preventive measures, removing this professor from teaching". This is "until the situation is clarified so that his students do not feel that defenselessness and insecurity when attending his classes".
This is how the alleged request confirmed by the newspaper reads. Meanwhile, they point out that the case involving Monedero is already "known to the Faculty and the University". That's why "a case has been opened by the University's Inspection of Services".

The Message on His Portal
On Saturday, a group of people placed a banner at Juan Carlos Monedero's residence with a message. "Attention, a filthy slob lives here and defends the dictatorship of Venezuela".
The UCM has initiated a reserved information file to clarify the facts, following the established protocol for these cases.
Ione Belarra, leader of Podemos, has defended the party's actions in response to the complaints, stating that they acted correctly upon learning of the testimonies.
Belarra has also criticized the media for their handling of the case, accusing them of attacking the party and not paying enough attention to the victims.
Additionally, old messages on social media have intensified the internal crisis in Podemos. A message from Belarra in response to a Monedero post in January 2024 has caused controversy, as it did not reflect distancing from him. Podemos has clarified that this message referred to a hoax about a file for criticism of Irene Montero, unrelated to the current accusations.
