Unexpected Twist in García Ortiz Case: Key Witness Could Corner the Prosecutor

The investigators of the case have unveiled several "suspicious" maneuvers.

The judicial investigation against Álvaro García Ortiz, the Attorney General, continues to advance, while the government tries to discredit the work of the Justice system. The Manos Limpias group doesn't let anything go unnoticed.

The group of lawyers, acting as a popular prosecution in the investigation of Isabel Díaz Ayuso's boyfriend, has made another request to the Supreme Court. This time, to clarify if the Attorney General resorted to the National Police. This, to obtain "advice" on recovering messages from his previous mobile phone.

According to information published by El Confidencial, this device was allegedly used in March of last year. A period during which the leak now under investigation supposedly occurred. The request aims to clarify if these actions are related to the case, in an attempt to shed light on the Attorney General's role in the events.

García Ortiz and the Alleged Contact with the National Police

The Attorney General's case is in the spotlight. After the latest information about the alleged deletion of messages and the supposed contact with Telefónica became known, investigators are closing in on Attorney General Álvaro García Ortiz.

Allegedly, García Ortiz requested technical advice from the Central Cybersecurity Brigade of the National Police. This, after Supreme Court Judge Ángel Luis Hurtado ordered the Central Operational Unit of the Civil Guard to try to recover deleted messages from his mobile phone.

According to what was published by El Confidencial, they reported that the first contact occurred last Thursday. This coincides with an alleged informal request from García Ortiz's circle to Telefónica to obtain the call traffic record.

Allegedly and according to the cited media, that day, a collaborator of the Attorney General approached the National Police. This, to express interest in resolving technical doubts related to the specialized cybercrime unit. The next day, the Prosecutor's Office formalized the request through a Ministry of Justice official.

The request was directed directly to Commissioner Juan Carlos Sancho, head of the Central Cybersecurity Brigade. According to El Confidencial, neither the National Police nor the Attorney General's Office have wanted to comment on the scope of this "advice."

García Ortiz is charged with an alleged crime of revealing secrets linked to Isabel Díaz Ayuso's boyfriend, Alberto González Amador. During the investigation, he has criticized the UCO's reports. To the point of accusing them of containing "serious irregularities," which led the judge to publicly support the "professionalism" of the Civil Guard agents.

This new and alleged approach by the Attorney General to the National Police suggests that he may have resorted in parallel to another institution. All to seek technical support while the case continues to develop.
