Víctor de Aldama's Tremendous Offer That the Prosecutor's Office Couldn't Refuse
The businessman used all his artillery against the Government to secure a beneficial agreement for himself
The imprisonment of businessman Víctor de Aldama was news that resonated throughout Spain. The commissioner's closeness to high-ranking government officials made the news much more controversial; however, after a few weeks, Aldama secured his freedom. It is important to emphasize that on that same day, he launched a powerful jab at the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, but how could Víctor de Aldama get out of jail so quickly?
According to the information revealed, in a private meeting, an agreement was reached between the anti-corruption prosecutor Alejandro Luzón and the lawyer José Antonio Choclán. A high-ranking officer of the Central Operational Unit of the Civil Guard was also present. According to the information published by The Objective, the agreement would allow Aldama's collaboration with the Justice in exchange for his release.

The businessman's lawyer appeared before the Prosecutor's Office to express his client's willingness to provide relevant documentation about an alleged corruption network. This scheme, under investigation, would involve high-ranking officials of Pedro Sánchez's government and would be related to the collection of illegal commissions in exchange for public contracts.
Supposedly, the meeting took place at the headquarters of the Special Prosecutor's Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime, on Manuel Silvela Street in Madrid. During the meeting, Choclán requested an agreement that would allow Aldama's release from prison. He had been in Soto del Real since October for his alleged involvement in a fraud linked to the hydrocarbon sector.
This prior understanding was crucial for the subsequent statement of the businessman before the justice system, in which he would have self-incriminated in certain episodes related to the mask scheme.
Aldama's Offer That the Prosecutor's Office Didn't Want to Miss
According to the cited media, the businessman offered a detailed statement in which he committed to revealing payments made to members of the Executive and PSOE politicians. This, allegedly, to obtain public contracts. Additionally, he claimed to have documentary evidence and other proofs to support his claims.

Given the magnitude of the offer, prosecutor Alejandro Luzón consulted with a high-ranking officer of the Central Operational Unit of the Civil Guard, responsible for the investigation. This was to assess the feasibility of the agreement.
According to the mentioned digital source, the officer's reply was decisive:
We have already analyzed 25% of the seized material and have sufficient evidence. If Aldama can provide something more, perfect, because the investigation is not in danger.
With this endorsement, the agreement between the Prosecutor's Office and Aldama was formalized.
