PP Denounces Sánchez's Lack of Collaboration in the Reconstruction Commission
The spokesperson for the Popular Group in the Valencia City Council, Juan Carlos Caballero, has denounced the negligence of the Government of Spain
The spokesperson for the Popular Group in the Valencia City Council, Juan Carlos Caballero, has denounced that the Government of Spain and its entities have decided not to provide any of the documents requested in the Reconstruction Commission of the districts affected by the DANA.
Caballero has demanded explanations from the Government Delegate and the responsible ministers for not cooperating with either documentation or appearances. He has also criticized the silence of the opposition, which has had access to the documentation for a week without denouncing the lack of contributions from the Júcar Hydrographic Confederation (CHJ), the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT), and the Civil Guard.
The councilor has pointed out that this attitude shows that the central government has "much to hide and conceal," as, despite having committed in writing to collaborate, it has not sent the required documentation. In contrast, both the City Council and the Generalitat have provided all the requested information. In the case of the council, more than 7,000 pages have been delivered, including detailed reports from each government area.
Caballero has highlighted that the absences in the Reconstruction Commission also reflect the lack of involvement of the central government. Neither the CHJ technician nor its president, Miguel Polo, appeared, despite having committed in writing, nor did a technician from AEMET. Additionally, the CHJ has not provided key reports on the DANA damages and the maintenance of channels, the DGT has not provided the list of alerts from October 29, and the Civil Guard has not delivered the intervention reports from that day in Valencia and its metropolitan area.
Finally, he criticized that the PSPV and Compromís also distanced themselves from the Commission, without attending any session or listening to the people they had proposed. For Caballero, this demonstrates "the lack of respect of the entire left toward the Valencians," by avoiding working on the reconstruction of the affected districts.
