This Week Three Key Court Dates Will Take Place in the 'caso Koldo'
Today Koldo García will undergo a handwriting test at the Supreme Court and on February 20 Ábalos will testify as a defendant.
This week, three significant court hearings are taking place in the Koldo case, both in the Supreme Court and the National Court. Today, Koldo García will undergo a handwriting test in the Supreme Court.
Today, also, María del Carmen Pano and Leonor Pano will testify in the National Court. On February 20, José Luis Ábalos will testify as a defendant in the Supreme Court.
On February 18, Koldo García, former advisor to former minister José Luis Ábalos, will undergo a handwriting test in the Supreme Court. This procedure aims to verify if his handwriting matches that of a handwritten note presented by businessman Víctor de Aldama. This could implicate García in the corruption scheme under investigation.

On the same day, in the National Court, María del Carmen Pano and her daughter, Leonor Pano, are summoned to testify. María del Carmen Pano, a businesswoman also charged in the hydrocarbons case, allegedly delivered 90,000 euros at the PSOE headquarters on Ferraz Street by Aldama's order. Her testimony could provide details about the alleged illicit payments related to the scheme.
On February 20, the former Minister of Transport, José Luis Ábalos, will appear as a defendant before the Supreme Court. Ábalos is being investigated for the alleged awarding of public contracts to businessman Víctor de Aldama and his partners in exchange for commissions. After his testimony, Judge Leopoldo Puente will evaluate the possible imposition of precautionary measures against the former minister.
In addition to these appearances, the Senate will continue with the investigation commissions related to the Koldo case. On February 19, the former Minister of Industry Reyes Maroto will appear again to respond about her possible involvement in the scheme. These sessions aim to clarify the possible connections between high-ranking officials and the illicit activities under investigation.

The Koldo case, which broke out a year ago with the arrest of Koldo García, has implicated various political and business figures in an alleged corruption scheme. The statements scheduled for this week are crucial to advancing the investigation and determining the corresponding responsibilities.
The handwriting test for Koldo García is essential to confirm the authenticity of the documents presented by Aldama. These documents could demonstrate García's involvement in the irregular awarding of public contracts. Meanwhile, the testimonies of María del Carmen Pano and Leonor Pano could provide information about the money flows and the connections between businessmen and politicians.
The statement of José Luis Ábalos as a defendant is especially relevant, given his former position as Minister of Transport and his position in the PSOE. His appearance could clarify his role in the alleged awarding of contracts in exchange for commissions and determine if there is sufficient evidence to proceed with legal actions against him.
