Ábalos is in the spotlight. The former minister returns to the Supreme Court for the Koldo case, a case that is causing so many headaches for PSOE. Now, the investigating judge of the case, Leopoldo Puente, summons him this time as a defendant.
Let's remember that on December 12, Ábalos went to the Supreme Court to testify voluntarily. According to the newspaper El Mundo, in an interview, the former minister made statements that did not go unnoticed. "I am the firewall of PSOE so that it doesn't affect anyone else," he declared, according to the media.

Koldo's Statement
Before Ábalos testified, his former advisor, Koldo García, did so last Tuesday. All to undergo a handwriting test whose objective is to verify the authorship of the documents provided by Víctor de Aldama. The businessman claims Koldo handed him several papers related to alleged irregular public works contracts.

According to the businessman, in which handwritten notes by Koldo appear in the margins.
The person involved in the case investigating the mask purchase scheme denies that the notes are his. He claims that it would be a forgery. But Koldo García has presented several medical reports this Tuesday before the Supreme Court.

With this, he tries to justify that the handwriting test could be altered. This is because more than three years ago he underwent surgery on his right arm. According to him, something that prevents him from writing as easily as five years ago when he is believed to have signed the documents delivered by Aldama.
Koldo, meanwhile, has entered and exited the Supreme Court covering his face. He did so with a black hat, sunglasses and a neck gaiter.
The Previous Statement
On December 12, as mentioned earlier, the former minister went to the Supreme Court to testify. Ábalos, investigated for influence peddling, embezzlement and bribery, claimed to have given all possible explanations.
Upon leaving the Supreme Court, he declared to the media and left these words. "I believe I have given all the explanations and nothing was left unsaid."
José Luis Ábalos declared he denied having received commissions from Víctor de Aldama during his time as minister. In his testimony, he claimed to be unaware of any relationship between payments made and political favors or awarded contracts.
