This is the Famous Congress Begoña Gómez Used to Attend as a Speaker and Now They Remove Her
The double indictment of Sánchez's wife is starting to take its toll.
The scandal over her indictment and the dual judicial investigation are taking a toll on Begoña Gómez. The wife of the Prime Minister has been excluded from the congress organized by the Spanish Association of Fundraising, which will be held from June 10 to 12 this year.
This event is one of the main gatherings of the Third Sector in Spain. It brings together specialists in fundraising, a field in which Begoña Gómez has developed her professional career.
The AEFr has sponsored the master's in fundraising that Gómez directed at the Complutense University of Madrid until this course. Additionally, the organization recognizes her as a "collaborating partner," which evidences her close connection with the entity.

According to OkDiario, this will be the second consecutive edition in which Gómez doesn't appear in the congress program. Her absence coincides with the judicial investigation in which she is implicated for alleged influence peddling, business corruption, embezzlement, and intrusion. In previous years, her participation was notable, leading presentations on Competitive Social Transformation and its impact on the Third Sector.
Supposedly, the association confirms that this year she will not be part of the event, explaining that the selection of speakers varies depending on the established theme. "She hasn't proposed anything, and neither have we," they point out. However, despite not being on the agenda, Pedro Sánchez's wife continues to promote the congress through her social media.
Reappears with Force the Indicted Partner of Begoña Gómez Amid Judicial Investigation
The businessman Juan Carlos Barrabés, the indicted partner of Begoña Gómez, has reappeared amid the investigation case. The company Barrabes.biz, owned by businessman Juan Carlos Barrabés, has launched a new version of its website with a more modern and detailed design.
The update highlights the various projects the company has worked on in recent years, including those that have been subject to investigations, such as those related to Red.es and the Higher Sports Council (CSD).

Barrabés, who helped establish a master's linked to Begoña Gómez, is under investigation in a case that also includes the wife of the Prime Minister. In 2021, his firm obtained, along with The Valley Digital School, a contract valued at approximately eight million euros. Later, in 2023, it came to light that Begoña Gómez had signed two letters of recommendation supporting the awarding of said contract.
Additionally, meetings at the Palacio de la Moncloa were revealed, one of them with President Pedro Sánchez, which raised suspicions of possible favoritism. These circumstances have led to the case continuing to be investigated by the authorities.
Barrabes.biz Defends the Awarding of the Contract and Calls It a "Success"
Despite Juan Carlos Barrabés still being under investigation, his company, Barrabes.biz, has claimed the contract obtained in 2021 as a "success." Additionally, it has detailed on its website how the project was carried out.
According to the company, their proposal allowed for the management of three contracts aimed at different regions of Spain and various audiences, including both young people and adults. "For this project to be a success, teamwork was key. With multidisciplinary profiles that facilitated quarterly planning, communication management, and student recruitment," they explain on the digital platform.
With this update, the company seeks to highlight its achievements and experience in executing training projects. This, in a context marked by the ongoing investigation into possible irregularities in the awarding.
