Who Is Zapatero's Man Whom Murtra Has Placed at the Head of Movistar+?

With this new position, he will now replace Sergio Oslé.

This is a reorganization of Telefónica's organizational chart. According to El Confidencial, businessman Marc Murtra has appointed Javier de Paz, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero's man in the company, to lead Movistar+.

For this, according to the media, he will replace Sergio Oslé, president of the aforementioned telecommunications company. The national division, which contributes around 27% of the group's global revenue, will have a significant change in its leadership.

Borja Ochoa, until now the general director of Defense at Indra, will take over the management of Telefónica España. This restructuring is part of the comprehensive renewal undertaken by Marc Murtra, the president appointed by the Government on January 17.

The new management also involves the departure of Ángel Vilá, the current CEO. He will be replaced by Emilio Gayo, who has been responsible for Telefónica España to date. With this decision, Murtra distances himself from Álvarez-Pallete's team, consolidating a new stage in the company.

José Cerdán, CEO of Telefónica Tech, is also leaving, and according to the newspaper, he will be replaced by Sofía Collado, although partially, as she will assume part of the responsibilities. Let's remember that Collado is the Director of Resources at Indra.

Javier de Paz's Huge Salary at Telefónica

Javier de Paz, according to the newspaper, is one of the men of "José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero's utmost confidence." Supposedly, according to the newspaper, at Telefónica, the close friend of the socialist ex-president would earn 1.43 million euros.

De Paz's confidence in Telefónica has been reflected in his investment strategy. This has led him to accumulate more than 41,700 shares of the company, valued at over 700,000 euros. His connection with the company began in 2007 when he joined the board, a position that was confirmed at the 2008 Shareholders' Meeting.

In recent years, he has stood out as one of the most active board members in acquiring company shares, consolidating his bet on the company's future.
