New Uco Evidence Could Put Álvaro García Ortiz Against the Ropes
Judge Ángel Hurtado has upheld the charges against García Ortiz and the chief prosecutor of Madrid, Pilar Rodríguez, considering that there is sufficient evidence of their involvement
UCO has delivered new evidence to the investigating judge Ángel Hurtado regarding the alleged deletion of messages by the Attorney General, Álvaro García Ortiz. This evidence focuses on the manipulation of mobile devices received by García Ortiz since June 2023.
According to UCO's report, the Attorney General received two mobile phones. One on May 24, 2024, and another on December 18 of the same year. After the case against him was opened, García Ortiz allegedly deleted the content of one of these devices.
The Central Operational Unit highlights that, although the Subdirectorate General of Digital Services Quality doesn't perform formatting tasks, there is evidence that the Attorney General himself requested a "new enrollment" of the Samsung A54 terminal on October 24, 2024.
This finding occurs in the context of a broader investigation into the leak of confidential information related to Alberto González Amador. On February 2, 2024, a confidential email was leaked to the media, which led to the opening of the case against García Ortiz.

Judge Ángel Hurtado has maintained the charge against García Ortiz and the Chief Prosecutor of Madrid, Pilar Rodríguez, considering that there is sufficient evidence of their involvement in the leak. However, he has dismissed the investigation against Diego Villafañe, García Ortiz's right-hand man, due to insufficient evidence against him.
UCO has reported that, since March 7, 2024, García Ortiz has not delivered any device for disuse or replacement. Additionally, it has been confirmed that the Attorney General deleted his WhatsApp messages on two occasions on October 16, 2024, the same day the Supreme Court's Criminal Chamber announced his charge.
The Prosecutor's Office has attributed the deletion of García Ortiz's messages to a security protocol established in a 2019 instruction, which urges members of the institution to destroy personal data and delete devices.
The investigation is ongoing, and it is expected that the new evidence provided by UCO will be crucial in clarifying the facts and determining the responsibility of those involved in the leak of confidential information.

The Devastating Order of the Judge Investigating García Ortiz That Puts the Prosecutor on the Ropes
The Attorney General against the ropes. García Ortiz has already learned of the new order from the Supreme Court judge, Ángel Luis Hurtado.
He has issued a document rejecting the appeals filed by the Attorney General, Álvaro García Ortiz, and the Provincial Prosecutor of Madrid, María Pilar Rodríguez Fernández, against the resolution that charges them. Allegedly, for having leaked confidential information about Alberto González Amador, the partner of Isabel Díaz Ayuso.
Regarding García Ortiz, the judge emphasizes "the indications pointing to his interest" in obtaining the email from February 2 of the past year 2024. And the fact that, barely five minutes after "closing the circle," its content was leaked to a media outlet. According to the judge, this suggests that, at this point in the investigation, the Attorney General could have been responsible for the leak.
Additionally, his participation in drafting the information note on February 14 is mentioned, a fact he has always acknowledged.
