Carlos Ocaña, advisor of the telephone company, is proposed by the Government for the vice presidency of the company.

He has previous experience in the economic team of La Moncloa during José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero's term. As well as in the Ministry of Industry, under the direction of Miguel Sebastián, Ocaña brings a solid background in public and private management.

His role as an advisor in companies like Paradores demonstrates his versatility. In addition to his leadership capacity in different fields.

Carlos Ocaña maintains a close relationship with Pedro Sánchez, the president of the Government. According to ABC, Ocaña was a co-author with Sánchez of the book based on his controversial doctoral thesis. The same one that was subject to plagiarism and has been a key figure within PSOE.

A highlighted aspect of Ocaña's career is his relationship with the current president of the Government through his work on the book. In 2012, Pedro Sánchez obtained his doctorate with a thesis riddled with academic irregularities. ABC detailed this in 2018.

Although Ocaña's name doesn't appear in the original thesis, it does appear in the book based on it. Under the title "The New Economic Diplomacy," published in 2014. The book was registered in 2013 by the Delta publishing house, with Pedro Sánchez as director and Carlos Ocaña as co-author.

Regarding the plagiarism, the book was even more controversial. It included at least 161 lines copied from other texts without proper citations or references.

What Has Happened at Telefónica?

The Government makes a move at Telefónica. It is not limited to having removed José María Álvarez-Pallete from the presidency of Telefónica to place Marc Murtra, linked to PSC and former executive of Indra, in his place.

Now, it has taken a new step by proposing the promotion of Carlos Ocaña, current member of the operator's board and close to the Executive. All to make him the vice president of the company.

This information has created a great stir on social media who see how Sánchez continues to place trusted people in high positions.

Let's remember the advisor was already appointed by Moncloa for the company.

This happened when SEPI completed the purchase of 10% of Telefónica's capital. Then, the president of the Government rewarded him with the position of advisor in the operator, and now he also becomes vice president.
