The statement by Ángel Víctor Torres's chief of staff that splatters Ábalos

Antonio José Olivera, current chief of staff for Ángel Víctor Torres, linked the company of the 'Koldo plot' with the Ministry of José Luis Ábalos

In the Senate investigation committee on the 'Koldo case,' Antonio José Olivera, current chief of staff for Ángel Víctor Torres, has made a key statement. Olivera, who was a former Deputy Minister of the Presidency of the Canary Islands, linked the company involved in the 'Koldo plot' with José Luis Ábalos's Ministry.

According to his words, the company had received the "endorsement" from this ministry. This was due to its relationship with other public companies in the same department, such as State Ports.

Olivera, who was also the director of the Canary Health Service, explained that the initial contact with the company linked to the plot was made by its sole administrator, Íñigo Rotaeche.

However, Olivera indicated that he did not remember or was not aware if Rotaeche mentioned to him that he was calling on behalf of Koldo García. Thus, the contact seems to have been more direct and without García's explicit mediation.

The former high-ranking Canary official stated that, upon learning that the company Soluciones de Gestión had previously worked with State Ports, it gave him "extra reassurance" and he did not perceive any risk in the contract. He explained that the Canary government paid the company as the material was delivered and its quality verified, ensuring that there was no risk associated with the agreement.

In response to questions from the UPN senator, Olivera also mentioned that Soluciones de Gestión had shown interest in the payment for the deliveries. However, he stated that he was not surprised by Koldo García's interest in this matter, as the company already had the backing of the Ministry of Transport.

He clarified that he had García's phone number, whom he knew through his professional relationship in the ministry. Although he clarified that he had not maintained contact with him after his departure from Transport.

Despite the links between the company and the Ministry of Transport, Olivera defended that the contract with Soluciones de Gestión was aligned with the recommended prices. According to his testimony, the offer was well adjusted to the context of the time and there were no indications of inflated prices or intent of illicit enrichment. Additionally, Olivera highlighted that the company had already successfully supplied material to State Ports, which reinforced the validity of the contract from his point of view.

The Impact on the 'Koldo Case' Investigation

Olivera's statement has provided new perspectives in the investigation into the 'Koldo plot.' The possible involvement of the company Soluciones de Gestión, linked to former ministerial advisor Koldo García, remains a central issue in the committee.

Despite Olivera's defense of the legality and transparency of the contract, the connection with figures from Ábalos's Ministry and the lack of clarity about the details of the contact with Koldo García continue to raise questions about the legitimacy of the operations carried out.
