The Silence of Begoña Gómez's Advisor in the Assembly Maintains Doubts in the Case

Moncloa advisor, Cristina Álvarez, has exercised her right not to testify in the Investigation Commission

Cristina Álvarez, advisor at Moncloa and collaborator with UCM on matters related to Begoña Gómez, appeared this Wednesday. She did so at the last session of the Madrid Assembly's investigation committee on Begoña Gómez's chair. However, she chose to exercise her right not to testify.

Álvarez had already avoided answering questions in November when she was summoned to the Senate committee investigating the Ábalos case. On this occasion, she intervened solely to communicate that she would not answer the questions posed by PP and Vox. The only parties still participating in the committee after the withdrawal of PSOE and Más Madrid.

The advisor began:

"Good morning, as I already did in the Senate investigation committee, I inform you that I am exercising my constitutional right not to testify. Especially since you already know that I gave a statement as a witness on December 20 before the court on these same facts. Answering for more than an hour to the questions posed by the popular accusations, including Vox, also present in this committee."

She added that:

"In a context where the popular accusations have repeatedly requested my indictment in recent months, I reiterate that I am exercising my constitutional right not to testify," thus concluding her intervention.

Despite her refusal to respond, the representatives of PP, María Mercedes Zarzalejo Carbajo, and of Vox, Ana Cuartero, posed a series of questions. All of them directed at Cristina Álvarez, who remained silent throughout the session.

This Is How Begoña Gómez "Plugged" Cristina Álvarez Into Moncloa

The 'Begoña Gómez' case, the wife of the Prime Minister, continues to be a scandal. The judicial investigation against Pedro Sánchez's wife has resulted in several indictments. Among these, that of a Presidency worker, Cristina Álvarez, who performed assistant duties for Begoña Gómez while also being assigned to Moncloa.

The investigation of the case has revealed a series of communications showing that Álvarez worked with the wife in her private businesses. Cristina Álvarez, director of programs at the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Government, assured the judge that she arrived at Moncloa after a call from Begoña Gómez.

According to her statement before magistrate Juan Carlos Peinado, Pedro Sánchez's wife called her right after winning the motion of no confidence against Rajoy. Supposedly, and according to Cristina Álvarez's statement, Begoña Gómez called her to offer her the aforementioned position in the Presidency. It is important to emphasize that the job offer did not come from any high-ranking official at Moncloa; it was directly from Begoña Gómez.
