A resignation that occurs in the midst of an investigation with evidence placing him in the focus of justice. However, now there is a budget hanging in the air. And it seems that no company is willing, for the moment, to take on the contract.

The program directed by the brother of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez. This public entity is currently under investigation by Judge Beatriz Biedma and the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard.

However, it has been known that the Legislature did decide to continue with Sánchez's brother's opera project. It did so despite the judicial process that focuses on the creation of his job position. The Investigative Court number 3 of the province is investigating whether his access to the Legislature pacense in 2017 as Coordinator of Conservatories was legal.

In total, the administration offers 373,125 euros (308,367 without VAT) broken down in 2025 and 2026 to contract future works. According to the newspaper El Independiente, this amount, in 2025, 151,859 euros will be allocated to the main opera. The hidden reason behind Sánchez's brother's surprising resignation

The brother of the President of the Government, David Sánchez, resigned from his position at the Legislature de Badajoz yesterday afternoon. The news surprised many, as Pedro Sánchez's brother is in the middle of a judicial investigation for several alleged crimes, among them, his curious hiring in Badajoz. And although the work of the investigators is closing in on him as the days go by, there is another reason for his resignation.

David Sánchez's resignation comes just after the bidding process for the development of the 'Young Opera 2025' program of the Legislature de Badajoz, which David Sánchez directed, was closed. The striking thing about this process is that it was left without offers. As we told you, no company participated in the bidding presented by the Legislature to produce the Young Opera program organized and coordinated by Pedro Sánchez's brother.

The Legislature de Badajoz, led by the socialist Miguel Ángel Gallardo, had called the bidding for a total of 373,125 euros with VAT included. This, with the aim of bringing several operas to different municipalities in the province and, something that should be highlighted, with the possibility of extending them to some border towns with Portugal.

After this, the musician has announced his resignation in a letter in which he assures that it is a "unilateral" decision. Until this moment, he directed the Performing Arts Office of the Legislature. It was a matter for which he was being investigated by Judge Beatriz Biedma.

The magistrate, who stated that "everything seems to indicate that the position was created to be assigned to Mr. Sánchez." Despite this, the brother remains under the scrutiny of Judge Biedma. That is, Sánchez's brother's resignation "doesn't free him" from the investigation, as explained by El Confidencial.
