The hidden reason behind Sánchez's brother's surprising resignation
This is what's behind Sánchez's brother's surprising resignation
The brother of the Prime Minister, David Sánchez, resigned from his position at the Legislature de Badajoz yesterday afternoon. The news surprised many, as Pedro Sánchez's brother is in the midst of a judicial investigation for several alleged crimes, among them, his curious hiring in Badajoz. Although the investigators' work is closing in on him as the days go by, there is another reason for his resignation.
David Sánchez's resignation comes just after the closing of the competition for the development of the 'Ópera Joven 2025' program of the Legislature de Badajoz, which David Sánchez was leading. The striking thing about this process is that it ended up with no offers. As we told you, no company participated in the competition presented by the Legislature to produce the Ópera Joven program organized and coordinated by Pedro Sánchez's brother.

The Legislature de Badajoz, led by the socialist Miguel Ángel Gallardo, had called the competition for a total of 373,125 euros (approximately 407,000 dollars) including VAT. This was with the aim of bringing several operas to different municipalities in the province and, something that should be highlighted, with the possibility of extending them to some border towns with Portugal.
After this, the musician announced his resignation in a letter in which he claims it is a "unilateral" decision. Until this moment, he was leading the Performing Arts Office of the Legislature. This was a matter for which he was being investigated by Judge Beatriz Biedma.
The magistrate, who stated that "everything seems to indicate that the position was created to be assigned to Mr. Sánchez." Despite this, the brother remains under the scrutiny of Judge Biedma. That is, Sánchez's brother's resignation "doesn't free him" from the investigation, as explained by El Confidencial.

The mentioned judge emphasized "the unnecessary nature of his functions very soon, as it was not arranged for him to be replaced by another worker during his leave of absence and paternity leave."
This way, it would be suggesting that Sánchez's brother allegedly accessed his position at the Legislature de Badajoz through favoritism.
In addition, it points out that "the existing indications of criminality have been corroborated by the investigative proceedings already carried out." The judge theorizes that, from the beginning, there has been favoritism toward Sánchez's brother.
