The Public Entity That Will Control the Networks Gave 10 Million to Begoña Gómez's Partner

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, spoke last Wednesday about freedom on social networks, but not in a positive way. The socialist announced that there must be greater control on social networks to manage the information that circulates. Another attempt to coerce freedom of expression.

Sánchez launched the new Digital Rights Observatory from the public company Red.es, a public entity that is under judicial investigation in the 'Begoña Gómez case', the president's wife. Begoña Gómez sent letters of recommendation to Red.es, a public body dependent on the National executive, which is headed by her husband. According to the Civil Guard investigators, Barrabés received 10 million euros in public contracts.

In an event held last Wednesday, Pedro Sánchez announced that:

We can't allow the digital space to become the Wild West.

After this, the socialist emphasized that on digital platforms  insults, threats, abuses, or scams can't be allowed without consequences. A speech that, at first, sounds reasonable if one doesn't take into account all the corruption scandals that tarnish the image of his Government.

In the middle of the speech, he launched a jab evidently directed at Elon Musk. With these words, Sánchez introduced the new role of the public entity investigated in the case of his indicted wife:

There is a  elite of billionaires who don't pay taxes, who also want political and democratic power. They want to sit directly in the councils of ministers, without masks or mediators, and control our laws (...), if necessary, promoting authoritarianism and hatred.

In this sense, Sánchez provided a "magical" solution to prevent "abuses" on social networks.

The Digital Rights Observatory that we launch today from Red.es, with the support of 48 companies, institutions, foundations, and also universities, is born with that vocation. That the  rights and freedoms that we defend in our daily life reach the digital world and that we protect them with the same rigor and the same vehemence.

However, immediately afterward, the socialist  revealed his true motivation for creating this censorship body on social networks. Supposedly, Red.es is going to be in charge of censoring "lies" and "attacks" on social networks.
