The Strange Movement on Ábalos's Phone That Sparks Suspicions

The most used 'praxis' in recent months by the Government and the closest circle to the president of the Government continues. Changes in mobile devices have become a modus operandi that tightens the noose around several hot spots. One example has been the Attorney General, Álvaro García Ortiz.

However, today another suspicious movement by Ábalos is known. As directly pointed out by the newspaper El Debate, the former minister reportedly changed his mobile device just over two weeks ago.

The old phone number, ending in "04", was the one Sánchez used since his arrival at La Moncloa in 2018. And he continued using it during his management at the Ministry of Transport. Similarly, with this same line, he maintained contact with businessman Víctor de Aldama and his ministerial advisor, Koldo García.

Both this device and the new one, which ends in different digits, have the self-destruct message function activated in the WhatsApp messaging application.

Due to this strange movement, the judge asks the UCO to carry out a detailed report with Ábalos's call traffic. The objective is to find out if the former minister had telephone contact with Aldama.
