The new request from the judge in the Koldo case that corners Ábalos
Leopoldo Puente has requested the Central Operational Unit of the Civil Guard telephone communications
The Koldo case is still on everyone's lips. The magistrate, Leopoldo Puente, has requested the Central Operational Unit of the Civil Guard for the phone communications. Communications between José Luis Ábalos, Koldo García, and Víctor de Aldama, key in the case.
Additionally, he has requested that all devices seized from Koldo García and Víctor de Aldama during the investigation be detailed. This with special attention to the messages that, at this point in the process, may have been exchanged from any of these devices.
Not only that, Puente has requested information on possible communications between Aldama and José Luis Ábalos, Víctor Ábalos, the minister Ángel Víctor Torres, or members of his team. Also the Secretary of Organization of PSOE, Santos Cerdán, as well as with any other person with parliamentary immunity before the Supreme Court.
The order mandates that, through his legal representation, Víctor de Aldama provide within ten days a list of the apartments. According to him, he facilitated for meetings in which the minister Ángel Víctor Torres, Koldo García, and José Luis Ábalos would have participated in Madrid. Additionally, he must provide the dates of the contracts, the periods of stay, and the payments made for these properties.
Additionally, he is asked to clarify if payments were made to the "ladies" he referred to in his statement. If so, to know who assumed those expenses.
Ábalos summoned
The Supreme Court has decided to advance the investigation against the former Minister of Transport, José Luis Ábalos, and has summoned him again to testify after receiving the request from Congress. Additionally, it has requested a detailed analysis of his assets.
The magistrate Leopoldo Puente has set the appearance for the upcoming February 18 at 10:00 a.m. before the Second Chamber of the Supreme Court, already with the formal condition of being investigated. After his statement, the possible application of precautionary measures will be evaluated. Carlos Moreno, chief of staff of the Minister of Finance, has also been summoned.
Witness summons
Puente has decided to take statements from other people as witnesses. Among them is his son, Víctor Ábalos. He must testify along with 16 other people between February 25 and March 5.
Among that total of witnesses are also former high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Transport, such as Jesús Manuel Gómez García, Javier Herrero, and Isabel Pardo de Vera.
Also the chief of staff of the Minister of Finance, Carlos Moreno Medina. On the other hand, Joseba García Izaguirre, brother of the investigated Koldo García, has been called to testify. Also Carmen Pano, his daughter, Jessica Rodríguez García, and several businessmen.
