Ábalos's son in the UCO's crosshairs: the Supreme Court requests an investigation into his assets

The judge in the 'Koldo case' focuses on José Luis Ábalos

The 'Koldo case' continues to progress while Pedro Sánchez's government keeps asserting that it's all a hoax from the "mud machine". But the truth is that the man who was number two in PSOE has been charged by the Supreme Court, has been summoned, and his assets and account are being investigated. However, the investigation doesn't end with José Luis Ábalos, Sánchez's former minister, but extends to his son, Víctor Ábalos.

As we tell you, the son of the former socialist minister is under investigation by the Central Operational Unit of the Civil Guard. This is at the request of the Supreme Court judge handling the case, Leopoldo Puente. The judge has requested a report as soon as possible on the financial situation of Ábalos and his son.

The order establishes that the UCO must gather, as quickly as possible, information obtained through open sources. The analysis will include bank accounts, deposits, and real estate or vehicles registered in his name. Additionally, it will investigate his possible involvement in companies, whether as administrators, partners, or shareholders.

This measure is part of the investigation against the former minister, in which alleged crimes related to corruption and emergency contracts during the pandemic are being analyzed.

Meanwhile, Víctor Ábalos has been summoned as a witness in the case that implicates his father. The summons for Ábalos's son will be between February 25 and March 5.

Supreme Court setback for Ábalos: asks UCO to investigate his accounts and summons him

New setback for Pedro Sánchez's former trusted man. The Supreme Court has decided to advance the investigation against the former Minister of Transport, José Luis Ábalos, and has summoned him again to testify after receiving the request from Congress. Judge Leopoldo Puente has set the appearance for February 18 at 10:00 a.m. before the Second Chamber of the Supreme Court, already with the formal condition of being investigated. After his statement, the possible application of precautionary measures will be evaluated. Carlos Moreno, chief of staff of the Minister of Finance, has also been summoned.

The case, driven by a private complaint and under the supervision of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, investigates alleged crimes of criminal organization. In addition to money laundering, bribery, influence peddling, and tax fraud. All of them related to emergency contracts awarded during the COVID-19 pandemic.
