Moncloa's Confession About Begoña Gómez's Advisor That Exposes Them

What has been admitted by Moncloa leaves Pedro Sánchez's wife exposed

The Director of Government Presidency Programs, Cristina Álvarez, currently under investigation in the Begoña case, was not assigned functions as Begoña Gómez's personal assistant. Her position, directly attached to Pedro Sánchez's cabinet, doesn't include such duties, according to a document sent by Moncloa to Judge Juan Carlos Peinado.

In response to the magistrate's request regarding Álvarez's functions, the Government Presidency has stated that:

Positions in the General State Administration do not have functions normatively associated directly.

Additionally, it details that the tasks performed by the official "are those typical of the management center and the unit to which the job position is assigned." This is in line with what is established in Royal Decree 890/2023, of November 27, which regulates the structure of the Government Presidency.

According to this decree, the functions of the position include providing information and advice to the president, coordinating government policies, and analyzing European Union programs. It also includes facilitating cooperation with autonomous communities and managing communication with citizens. Furthermore, it includes advising on national security and other matters entrusted by the president.

However, none of these responsibilities seem to fit the role that Cristina Álvarez has practically performed. She has rather acted as Begoña Gómez's personal secretary, both in her public and private agenda. This situation reinforces doubts about the legality of her functions within Pedro Sánchez's cabinet.

This Is How Begoña Gómez's Advisor's Salary Grew Year After Year

Cristina Álvarez received up to 300,000 euros since 2018 as Begoña Gómez's advisor.

This was communicated by the head of administration and personnel coordination at Moncloa to the judge investigating Gómez. All for alleged crimes of influence peddling, business corruption, misappropriation of brand, and intrusion.

However, in the breakdown of her payrolls, the salary increase is evident. It should be remembered that she held the position of "Director of Programs of the Government Presidency Cabinet." This is a position she has held since July 16, 2018.

The documentation sent by Moncloa to the Investigative Court Number 41 of Madrid includes a breakdown of Álvarez's payrolls. From August 2018 to January 2025.
