Mompó Strengthens Firefighters' Safety with New Intervention Suits

The new equipment improves visibility and protection for personnel in critical operations

The Provincial Fire Consortium of Valencia (CPBV) has taken a decisive step toward modernizing its equipment with an investment of 615,000 euros aimed at acquiring 850 intervention suits for forestry work and rescue operations. This action seeks to significantly improve the safety of professional and volunteer firefighters, in line with UNE 15384 and UNE 16689 standards.

The president of the CPBV and Deputy for the Environment, Avelino Mascarell, highlighted that "in an emergency service, uniformity must be synonymous with safety." The new equipment incorporates crucial improvements in visibility, specially designed to optimize performance during nighttime operations. Thanks to high-reflectance materials and more visible colors, the suits ensure greater safety in low-light situations.

The contract, structured for three years, allows the Consortium greater flexibility for the replacement of worn-out material after intensive interventions, such as the recent DANA, as well as for equipping new personnel joining the fire department.

A design adapted to the real needs of the service

The selection of the new suits has been the result of a collaborative process between CPBV technicians and unions, aiming to balance safety, comfort, and durability. Tests have been conducted in real scenarios, such as traffic accidents, vertical rescues, and forest fire extinguishing maneuvers, to ensure that the equipment effectively meets the demands of each type of intervention.

"This contract is the result of joint work and a thorough evaluation of the needs of the fire department. We not only improve personal protection but also operational efficiency, ensuring a quick and safe reply to any emergency," concluded Mascarell.

This investment reflects the commitment of the Provincial Fire Consortium of Valencia to the continuous improvement of its resources and the protection of those who risk their lives to safeguard others, consolidating a more modern, efficient, and safe emergency service.
