Castellón Prepares for a Great 'Green Wave' of Solidarity
The IX March Against Cancer promises to be an emblematic event
Castellón is preparing to welcome a great "green tide" of solidarity in the IX March Against Cancer, which will take place this Sunday at 11:00 a.m. with the start and finish at the main platform of Ribalta Park. The mayor of Castellón, Begoña Carrasco, has called for massive citizen participation after receiving the official event t-jersey from the manager of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) in Castellón, Salomé Esteller.
"We want a great green tide to flood the streets with solidarity this Sunday," Carrasco declared, emphasizing the importance of this event not only as a sporting activity but as an act of social commitment that helps save lives. The IX edition has already surpassed 6,000 registrations, showing the city's charitable nature.
The proceeds from the registrations will be entirely allocated to research to improve early diagnosis and cancer treatments. "The sport-solidarity binomial is a successful tandem and a unique opportunity to join efforts and improve the lives of people fighting this disease and their families," the mayor highlighted.
Carrasco also thanked the effort and dedication of the AECC and its team of volunteers, who work tirelessly to support patients and promote cancer research. "Castellón has always proven to be a supportive and committed city, and this march is a reflection of that spirit," she concluded.
The IX March Against Cancer promises to be an emblematic event, bringing together thousands of people in a day that will combine sports, awareness, and hope.
