Mazón announces a new line of direct aid for ranchers affected by the DANA

The president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, has informed that the Pleno del Consell will approve tomorrow a line of direct aid endowed with 3.5 million euros for livestock farms affected by the floods of October 29. These "express" aids will cover 100% of the costs of replacing animals, feed, forage, equipment, and damaged machinery.

During a visit to the SAT Gaviga livestock farm in Riba-roja de Túria, joined by the Minister of Agriculture, Water, Livestock, and Fisheries, Miguel Barrachina, Mazón highlighted the estimate of 10,000 head of cattle lost among 30 to 40 farms. The goal is to fully restore the affected livestock activity with a simplified aid system, which only requires a responsible declaration and proof of damages.

The president emphasized the Consell's effort to implement immediate measures, without taxes or bureaucracy, in the absence of direct support from the Government of Spain. He highlighted that the Generalitat is the only administration that has applied tax exemptions and aid for self-employed individuals, with the first batch already paid 100%.

Mazón also praised the speed of the Ministry of Agriculture, which was the first to manage the removal of dead animals, and assured that it will continue working until the full recovery of the livestock sector.

Additionally, he recalled other measures adopted by the Consell, such as the investment of 20 million euros in the repair of rural roads, with actions on 160 routes, and non-repayable grants for the rehabilitation of irrigation systems aimed at irrigation communities.

The president concluded by reaffirming the Consell's commitment to the recovery of the Valencian primary sector, highlighting the importance of immediate actions to ensure the restoration of economic and social activities in the affected areas.
