The Key Meeting That Boosted Zapatero's Daughters' Company in Venezuela
The alleged meeting took place shortly after the socialist was received by Maduro.
Zapatero continues to make headlines. The former socialist president of the Government, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, allegedly met with the Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro. This meeting supposedly took place in April 2023.
This was reported by The Objective. The alleged meeting took place shortly after the socialist was received by Maduro at his Miraflores palace.
That same year, the company run by Zapatero's daughters, Whathefav, took off economically, according to the media. The communication agency they both run in Madrid is focused on the video game industry. It was allegedly requested by the Venezuelan portal El Server to promote the growth of esports in Venezuela, a booming sector that moves billions worldwide.

This partnership involved the sisters' entry into the Venezuelan market with the support of still unknown investors. It supposedly occurred after a job offer was published by their agency. In that announcement, published at the beginning of 2024, content creators were sought for the platform, which highlighted the start of the project.
According to the newspaper, the El Server platform was created shortly after José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero's visit to Caracas, where Nicolás Maduro gave him a reception with great solemnity. The meeting took place on January 19, 2023, and also included the participation of Venezuela's Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez.

Zapatero's Man in the Venezuelan Embassy
This is Álvaro Albacete, the new ambassador of Spain in Venezuela, replacing Ramón Santos.
The appointment comes in a context marked by the imminent expiration of Nicolás Maduro's mandate and the stance of the Spanish Government. All this in front of Edmundo González, the president-elect of Venezuela still not recognized by Spain.
Álvaro Albacete is a veteran diplomat closely linked to the era of José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero in power.
Between 2004 and 2011, he held key roles as a parliamentary advisor and deputy director of the cabinet of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. He participated in milestones such as the Navantia case and the first energy agreements between Spain and Hugo Chávez's regime.
More recently, Albacete has held strategic positions as chief of staff to the Minister of Culture, Ernest Urtasun, and diplomatic advisor to President Pedro Sánchez.
Albacete's appointment also occurs while the case known as "Koldo" progresses in the courts.
There are currently investigations into possible irregularities in the relations between Spain and Venezuela. These include names like José Luis Ábalos, Koldo García, and Víctor de Aldama. Something that could implicate both Zapatero and key figures in his circle.
