Jorge Azcón: "Aragón is envied today in other parts of Spain and Europe"

In his speech, Azcón expressed his gratitude to the workers and executives of Stellantis.

The President of the Government of Aragón, Jorge Azcón, highlighted this Friday the importance of the arrival of the Stellantis and CATL gigafactory in Figueruelas, describing it as "an investment that opens new possibilities in Aragón" and positions the region to attract future investments. Azcón made these statements during a visit to the plant alongside the Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu.

"Today we have the opportunity to attract more investments, to show the world the competitive advantages of Aragón, explain why we've won this race and how we can participate in others to create jobs and prosperity," stated Azcón. According to the president, the region is now a benchmark in Spain and Europe for its ability to attract key projects in automotive and technology, which will allow for even more ambitious goals.

Azcón emphasized that the transformation of the automotive sector is closely linked to electricity and technology, and that  this change requires profiles like computer engineers and data specialists, in addition to traditional mechanical engineers. "The epicenter of these technologies is in Aragón," he noted, insisting on the need for collaboration between the central and Aragonese governments to ensure the necessary investments in energy.

In his speech,  Azcón expressed his gratitude to the workers and executives of Stellantis, as well as to the public administrations involved, for their joint effort to make this project a reality. "Figueruelas will not only be a driving force for development in Aragón, but  an example of competitiveness and progress at an international level," he concluded.
