The fortune the Ministry of Education allocated to a study that turned out to be a failure
The study referred to is the International Study on Digital Competence
The Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, and Sports is in the midst of controversy. The institution led by Pilar Alegría published a report last November on the digital skills of Spanish students, focusing on 2nd-year ESO students. The study, which cost 457,245 euros, has been downloaded only 120 times from the ministry's official website.
This is confirmed by The Objective. Considering this, the ministry would have spent that large sum on a study that turned out to be a failure, as it was not profitable.
According to the media, the average cost per download of the document equates to 3,810 euros. This amount is significantly below the total invested in the study in question.
The study referred to is the International Study on Digital Competence, as explained by the newspaper. Its purpose is to analyze young people's ability to adapt and perform in a digital environment.
Both in their daily lives and in the educational and work spheres. Although this research began to be developed in 2013 and is repeated every five years, Spain participated for the first time in the 2023 edition.
According to the mentioned media, the report was entirely prepared by ministry employees, who didn't receive any additional payment for their work. It is noted that the document downloads have reached 144, although only 120 of them were unique downloads.
Additionally, with the ministry's resources, a website was created to share the report in digital format. The study, according to the media, received a total of 472 visits, of which 330 were unique visits.
Pilar Alegría's Huge Salary
The Government spokesperson has shown her most defensive side of Pedro Sánchez's Government. Not only of her Government, but also of her wife or brother.
However, RTVE also published her asset declaration from last year 2022.
- House in Zaragoza. Full ownership by purchase in 2015
