The presentation of the documentary 'Día 0' took place at the Francisco Rabal Regional Film Library in Murcia, as part of World Cancer Day.
The Sandra Ibarra Foundation presented the documentary "Day 0" yesterday at the Francisco Rabal Regional Film Library in Murcia, as part of World Cancer Day. Sponsored by the Ribera Health Group and El Pozo, and supported by collaborators such as El Corte Inglés, Cetina Hotels, and Ability Graphic Design, the work offers a moving look at the experience of those who have overcome cancer, establishing itself as a testimony of hope and resilience, as well as a call for the need for care protocols for the more than two million cancer survivors in Spain.
After the screening, a debate was held moderated by Sandra Ibarra, featuring Mateo Ruiz, the documentary's protagonist; Dr. Raúl Carrillo Vicente, oncologist at the Perpetuo Socorro Hospital in Cartagena; Roberto Cañada, nutritionist at Ribera Cardiosalus Clinics in Murcia; Dr. Vanessa Roldán, head of Hematology at the Virgen de la Arrixaca Hospital; and a representative from the Official College of Nursing of the region. The experts reflected on the impact of cancer on patients, families, and society.
The event was attended by the Health Minister of the Region of Murcia, Juan José Pedreño, and the Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Sports, Carmen María Conesa, who expressed the regional government's support for this awareness initiative on the importance of prevention, research, and support for patients and their families.
The Ribera Health Group, which has an extensive healthcare network in the region comprising four hospitals and about twenty medical centers, supported the event, highlighting its commitment to the health and well-being of the community.
About "Day 0"
Produced by Grupoidex and La Boutique 77, and directed by Javier Cumella, "Day 0" highlights the reality of more than 100,000 people who overcome cancer each year in Spain. Through the stories of Francisco, Elena, Darío, Bárbara, Mateo, and Sandra, the documentary reflects the physical, emotional, and social needs of patients, not only during treatment but also in the survival phase, where medical discharge doesn't mean the end of the process.
