Maghrebi Detained for the Murder of a Priest
The National Police have managed to identify and arrest a suspect for the homicide of Father Richard Gross. This is the case of the American tourist murdered during a robbery on January 21 in the center of Málaga.
According to the digital SUR, the detainee is a 27-year-old man of Maghrebi origin, who was arrested on Friday, January 31. After being brought before the court last weekend, the judge has ordered his provisional imprisonment for his alleged involvement in the crime.
The lifeless body of Richard Gross was found on January 21 in a tourist apartment on Viento Street, in the center of Málaga. It showed evident signs of violence, and the initial police investigations determined that the homicide occurred a day earlier, on January 20, a few hours after his arrival in the city.
Investigations suggest that the victim was attacked upon entering the accommodation, as he still had the keys to the apartment in his possession. The strikers, whose identity is still being investigated, allegedly stole various belongings from him, including a backpack and a suitcase containing his documentation. The National Police continue with the proceedings to clarify the facts and determine if more people were involved in the crime.
