
Ferran Adrià boosts Castellón's gastronomic capital status during his official visit
The prestigious chef has been received by Mayor Begoña Carrasco
The mayor of Castellón, Begoña Carrasco, received the renowned chef Ferran Adrià this afternoon, as part of his visit to the city to participate in various gastronomic activities organized by Caixabank and elBulliFoundation.
During the event at the City Hall, Adrià was joined by Jaume Casas, director of Institutions at Caixabank in the Valencian Community, and Olga García, regional director of the entity in the Valencian Community and Region of Murcia. Representing the municipality, the first deputy mayor and councilor for Urban Planning, Sergio Toledo, and the councilor for Tourism, Arantxa Miralles, among other members of the government team, attended.
After his official reception, the chef signed the City Hall's Book of Honor and had a meeting with the mayor before giving his masterclass "Essence and Future. Innovative Attitude" at the Teatro Principal de Castellón.

Carrasco highlighted the honor of receiving Ferran Adrià, noting that his visit "reinforces Castellón's leadership in the gastronomic field." She also emphasized the City Hall's commitment to positioning the city as a reference destination in gastronomic tourism, promoting initiatives that highlight its culinary richness.
"We have one of the best pantries in the Mediterranean, with sea and mountain products that make Castellón's gastronomy one of the most recognized in our country," stated the mayor.
A gift with a taste of Castellón
As a gesture of hospitality, the mayor presented Ferran Adrià with a basket of typical Km. 0 products from the province.
Additionally, the Gremi de Forners de Castelló, led by its Mestre Major, César Solsona, offered a tasting of traditional pastries, which piqued the chef's interest.
Carrasco highlighted the work of entities like the Gremi de Forners, which strive to preserve and promote Castellón's gastronomic tradition, consolidating it as a hallmark of the city.
With this visit, Castellón reaffirms itself as a culinary reference, blending tradition and innovation in a determined commitment to gastronomic excellence.
