Dudamel will conduct a charity concert in Valencia for those affected by the DANA
José Luis Moreno, president of the Palau de la Música, highlights that this concert has a charitable nature.
The Sala Iturbi at the Palau de la Música de València will host an extraordinary charity concert on February 3, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel. This event will bring together the Orquesta de València and the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana to benefit the people and musical societies affected by the DANA.
The program will include the Fliscorno Concerto by Pacho Flores, performed by the composer himself, and Symphony No. 2, Resurrection by Gustav Mahler, a work of great emotional and technical depth. The Cor de la Generalitat Valenciana, the Jove Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana, students from the Conservatorio Superior de Música Joaquín Rodrigo, and maestro Christian Vázquez as assistant conductor will also participate.
José Luis Moreno, president of the Palau de la Música, highlighted that this concert, besides its charitable nature, will be special due to the presence of musicians and workers directly affected by the DANA, who are collaborating altruistically. He also thanked Dudamel, considered one of the best conductors in the world, for immediately joining this initiative.
The trumpeter and composer Pacho Flores, with a personal connection to València, expressed his motivation: "This city is my home. As soon as I heard about the tragedy, I called Dudamel, who accepted instantly. This concert is a rebirth, a celebration between our music and the Valencian."
The single ticket price will be 15 euros, and a Row 0 will be available for additional donations. The funds raised will be allocated to the recovery of the affected musical societies, through accounts managed by the Federación de Sociedades Musicales de la Comunidad Valenciana (FSMCV) and the Generalitat Valenciana.
Tickets will be available starting January 17 at 10:00 a.m. on the Palau de la Música's website (www.palauvalencia.com) and at its box offices. This charity event promises to be an unforgettable experience that unites music and hope for València.
