Iglesias and Montero Cornered: Monedero Threatens to Publish Their 'whatsapps'
Juan Carlos Monedero challenges Podemos's leadership and warns that he has evidence against their version
Juan Carlos Monedero, co-founder of Podemos, refuses to stay on the sidelines of politics and the party he helped create. In recent days, he has sent messages to his close circle claiming to have screenshots that would refute the official version of Podemos's leadership.

According to Monedero, these messages would prove that Pablo Iglesias and Irene Montero aren't telling the whole truth. This is regarding the tensions that have marked their relationship with the party since the spring of 2023.
In one of his statements, he hints at a warning. He hopes not to be forced to disclose this evidence to dismantle what he considers a manipulation of the facts.
The conflict arises after statements by Ione Belarra, who claimed that Monedero was removed from the party as soon as certain complaints about his conduct became known. However, internal sources claim that his departure from the Instituto República y Democracia, linked to Podemos, occurred before the 2023 general elections. Meanwhile, his separation wasn't motivated by these accusations.
All this, according to the digital publication ABC.
Complutense Avoids Another Scandal and Removes Monedero After Being Accused of Sexual Harassment
Juan Carlos Monedero will not teach again at the Complutense University of Madrid. This decision is due to a sexual harassment complaint filed by a student. The faculty has decided to remove the professor from the courses "Contemporary Political Theory" and "Theory and Practice of Democracies."
The Student Delegation of the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology expressed their "logical concern" about the information related to Monedero. In response, the university has opted to suspend him temporarily until further notice.

The Faculty of Political Science and Sociology has indicated that they are working to have these courses taught by a substitute. The goal is to ensure that academic activity proceeds normally in the coming weeks.
Monedero has been at the center of controversy following the opening of a confidential report by the Complutense University. This process was activated after receiving a complaint from a student for alleged sexual harassment. However, details about when the complaint was formalized are unknown.
