Cecilia Herrero (vox) Promotes the Largest Municipal Aid to the Agricultural Sector
Valencia City Council's Councilor for Entrepreneurship and Agriculture, Cecilia Herrero, has announced the launch of 'Reactiva la Huerta'
The Councilor for Entrepreneurship and Agriculture of the Valencia City Council, Cecilia Herrero, has announced the launch of "Reactivate the Orchard," the first grant call of 2025 for the primary sector, with an allocation of 475,000 euros. This initiative represents the largest amount awarded per beneficiary by the council and aims to strengthen a key sector in the local economy.
Herrero has highlighted that this aid is aimed at alleviating the difficulties faced by farmers and ranchers, exacerbated by bureaucratic hurdles and regulation. Special attention has been given to the districts of La Torre, Castellar-Oliveral, Horno de Alcedo, and Faitanar, areas particularly affected by floods.
The call includes up to 5,000 euros per application, prioritizing the order of submission until the credit is exhausted. Additionally, farmers with plots in production in the designated districts can receive additional increases ranging from 3,000 to 7,000 euros, depending on the size of the farm: 3,000 euros for less than 2.47 acres (1 hectare), 5,000 euros for between 2.47 and 7.41 acres (1 and 3 hectares), and 7,000 euros for more than 7.41 acres (3 hectares).
According to Herrero, the goal is "to promote agricultural and livestock entrepreneurship in Valencia, as this sector is essential for generating employment and wealth in the city." She also recalled that this is the third grant call for the primary sector in less than a year, reaffirming the municipal commitment to field workers.
Additionally, the grants are compatible with other municipal subsidies, provided that the total amount doesn't exceed the cost of justified expenses.
The application submission period will be 20 calendar days from the publication of the call in the Official Gazette of the Province.
With this initiative, Cecilia Herrero reinforces the City Council's support for the agricultural sector in a context of difficulties arising from European policies and the lack of support from the central government, as the councilor has emphasized.
